ADR ODR international prides itself in being one of the first dispute resolution organisations to bridge the gap between traditional face to face alternative dispute resolution and the emerging digital world of online dispute resolution.

TRAIN THE TRAINER PEER MEDIATION PROGRAMMESchool-based peer mediation is a restorative student-facilitated conflict resolution action plan for the students by the students. Peer mediation pro-grams help students transform potentially destructive situations into op-portunities for learning and personal growth. Students learn how to manage conflicts constructively and how to negotiate mutually agreeable solutions. Peer mediation programs enable young people to develop soft skills as they approach monumental changes from their teens into adult hood.

Why train with us?ADR- ODR International and the European Institute for Conflict Resolution are two entities passionate about conflict resolution and we firmly believe that each and every graduate of our course should be provided with every opportunity to develop and implement a peer mediation program having successfully completed their program with us.

All our mediation programmes are skill-based and focus on practical learn-ing. During your Train the Trainer Peer Mediation Program over 70% of your time will be spent in case study peer mediation exercises, group discussions and de-briefing sessions. The programme is presented by highly experienced international tutors and peer mediation practitioners who give comprehensive feedback and guid-ance throughout.

Our peer mediation trainers have extensive academic experience in media-tion and mediation training and have already implemented peer mediation programs in schools in many countries with diverse cultural groups.

Course Objectives

Should I attend? The Train the Trainer Peer Mediation Programme is designed for teachers, teaching assistants and other individuals that are involved in learning and transforming experience of students. After the completion of the training program, school-administrators, teachers, staff, school-counselors and coaches of sport find themselves at a greater advantage when applying ne-gotiation and mediation skills to real life conflicts in classrooms and schools due to the invaluable knowledge and confidence gained from first-hand experience during the peer mediation training.

The successful implementation of a Peer-Mediation Program has shown:• A decrease in the time and in the effort teachers and administrators spent in resolving student conflicts• An increase in the time teachers spend in teaching and pastoral care• A decrease in the teachers’ enforcing and/or dealing with discipline incidents as students take responsibility for their own behavior, conflicts and arrangements• A decrease in the number of conflict referrals to teachers & principals• A significant improvement in the overall school climate because students develop better attitudes and increased self-esteem • The achievement of higher academic performances• A more effective development of communication and social skills • The genuine empowerment of students to resolve their own conflicts

Course ObjectivesOur peer mediation course has two learning objectives for the trainees: 1. Trainees learn the basic skills of mediation and negotiation.2. The trainees learn how to train students through a structured media-tion process of 6 stages where the mediation and negotiation skills are implemented. After the completion of the three-day course, the trainees are able to conduct their own peer mediation program with credibility and effectiveness.

Pre LearningAny additional material including pre learning text will be sent to each dele-gate in advance of the training ensuring that each of our delegates is given sufficient time to prepare for the course. Your pre-learning material will enhance your learning experience and allow you fully prepare, and engage in the course before it even starts. We are confident that your pre-learning engagement will allow you to be better prepared, less stressed and better equipped to learn.
