What Are The Top 10 Online Marketing Tools?
And
How to use them!
Introduction:
When I started marketing on the internet, I was overwhelmed not knowing exactly what to do. Maybe youfelt the same way.
I saw stuff being sold all over the internet and I wanted a piece of the action.
My story:
In the old days of the internet (1990’s and early 2000’s), good effective online marketing tools were almostnon-existent. About 15 years ago I had a jewelry store online. I didn’t even know what an Auto Emailresponder was. I had that business for about 10 years, but never collected a single email.
I sent out fliers and updates by snail mail.
Dang, I wish I had an auto-responder back then, I would have saved a lot in postage. All of this hasimproved as the internet has matured!
Out of all of the internet marketing tools I’ve used over the years, I have a few favorites. Some of these arefree internet marketing tools. Some are not (but essential).
I’m going to show you exactly which online marketing tools you need.

They are all absolutely essential to my business!

1. Desktop Computer and/orLapTop
Which?
Many Marketers prefer Macs (although PCs are fine)
I’ve gone back and forth over the years. In the early years of Macs, It was very difficult to getsoftware. But today, most of that has changed. Macs also have the advantage of not beingattacked as much by viruses. It is possible to infect a Mac, but most of the hackers out therejust target PCs
You cannot rely on an IPhone or Ipad alone to do your online marketing. There are many thingsyou can do with iPhones and IPads. But you cannot do everything with them. (my teenage kidsmay disagreee)
High speed internet.
2. Digital Camera, iPhone, iPAD, Android etc.
Video is king on the internet. I’ve made a ton of money through video marketing. Believe it or not, I makea lot of video with my cell phone. I upload it to YouTube and make money from the traffic I generate fromthe videos.
How?
With iPhones and iPADs: just click on “Camera” then Select “Video.
Always hold your iPhone horizontally. If you don’t, your video will not fit the whole screen.
Also be sure that the “camera” icon is right-side-up. Otherwise your video will appear up-side-down.
You can shoot a video and upload it directly to YouTube, but it is best to reduce the file size of the video before uploading it.

3. Hand Brake (free software)
I use this software to reduce the file size of my videos.
Why reduce file size?
Have you ever had problems downloading a video from the internet. Itwas probably because the file size was huge. Hand Brake solves theproblem and easily allows you to reduce the file size.
Think of the problem this way. If your prospect has to wait for yourvideo to load, she will probably click out of your video or offer.
Most people have a short attention span on the internet.
One educator said “we are in the ADD generation.
How do you use HandBrake?
Download Handbrake for free (do a google search)
Choose “Iphone and Ipad Touch”
Name your file name your key word. (this helps in ranking)

4. Screen Capture Software: For capturing Images on your screen.
Screen hunter 6.0 (Free) – Image Screen Capture software.
This software will not create a video, but it will snap a photo on your screen.
The picture above was shot using Screen Hunter 6.0.
You can also use CamStudio or Camtasia to capture images.
Screen Hunter is very simple to use.
How?
Just click “Capture Now” then take your cursor and draw a square around the area that you want tocapture. Let go of your mouse button and Screen Hunter will automatically take the photo.
5. Video Screen Flow Software (for making motion videos of your computerscreen)
Camstudio – Records Face and Screen
Camtasia – Records Face and Screen.
Snagit 11 – Less expensive. Records your screen but does not record your face.
Video Capture software like Snagit is just as easy to use as Screen Hunter.
How?
Just click on the “Video” Icon. Click “start”.
When you are done recording your screen, just click on the “control” and “F10″ keys at the same time. This stops the video. The next screen allows you to select a file name.
For SEO, choose a file name which is the same as your key word.
6. Use Microsoft PowerPoint - For modifying images
How?
Just drag and drop an image file to a blank PowerPoint screen.
You can adjust the size of the photo right in the PowerPoint screen.
You can also put multiple photos on the same screen.
After you have the images adjusted like you want, just use Screen Hunter to snap a photo of the pictureyou want.
I created the “HandBrake” image above by using a PowerPoint page.
I simply took a screen shot of the image (with Screen Hunter), when I was finished.
7. Use Microsoft Power point – For creating slide-show presentations.
This is awesome for creating Slide Show style videos.
I have created many slide show video using PowerPoint.
How?
After you have created your slides in PowerPoint. Just click on “Slide Show”.
If you don’t know how to use PowerPoint. Just go to YouTube and type it “how to create a slide show inPowerPoint”.
8. Landing Page Creation (for capturing a prospect’s email address) :
How?
You need to have a way to capture a prospect’s email address.
Creating a landing page (capture page) is the best way to collect an email address.
You will need to learn how to create a compelling offer or lead magnet on your landing page. Also it needsto convert well.
Creating a landing page is an advanced skill.
But if you are willing to learn this skill, I would recommend creating an account with a landing pagecompany like LeadPages.net.
You can create landing pages on Leadpages.net for about $25 – $67 per month.
As a new marketer, I recommend that you check with your company (if you are in a direct sales or mlm).
If they provide ready made landing pages, you can use them first.
Warning: Be sure that your company regularly rotates different landing pages. Even a great landing pagewill become saturated over time. A landing page that was once converting at 50 percent, may end upconverting at 10 percent after 8 months or so.
When your company changes its member’s capture page, be sure to utilize the new one.
If your company (or system) is progressive, they will consistently test those landing pages.
9. Email Auto Responder
An auto responder is a must!
Your money is in your email list!
The goal is to collect as many targeted email addresses as you possibly can!

10. Blog Platform:
Why do you need a blog?
Virtually every serious internet marketer that I know, uses the power of blogging!
Do Not UnderEstimate the money making capacities of a good blog.
There are two advantages of blogging as an online tool.
1. Lead generation
2. Conversions
Its that simple!
Blogging is also very safe. YouTube, Facebook and twitter may change there rules, but blogging has stoodthe test of time. It is your home base!
Don’t worry about creating a web site. It is way to labor intensive!
Just create a blog!
Blogging has made people multi millions

The technical challenges will become mere molehills when you learn the basics on this page.

Think about a child who is learning to ride a bike.
At first it is an almost impossible challenge. But he didn’t give up.
That is how I feel about learning how to use internet marketing tools!
The learning curve is minimal. But when you master the tool, they become a snap to use.
