Thanksgiving Safety

By: Zachary Sullivan ----------------------------------------------- We all love Thanksgiving and the amazing food that comes with it! This year however, his year is going to be quite different. Here are some ideas to keep your turkey day safe!

- Get COVID Checks if you’re going to be around family/friends. You can never be too sure! -Wear a mask! It’s super easy and super helpful -Don’t have a big gathering! Keep it simple

-Consider a Zoom call! If you want to see your family and friends you can always Zoom them!

We can all still enjoy the Holiday Season, we just have to be smart about it.

First Thanksgiving Dinner

By: Jason Raymond ------------------------------------------- -----

Imagine no turkey, stuffing, or cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving Day?

Today’s customary Thanksgiving dinner items had no place on the first thanksgiving dinner table. What did they eat? In place of turkey, they ate ducks, geese, and swans.

Nuts were most likely

on the table instead of stuffing. Also, because seafood was so plentiful, they ate mussels from the nearby ocean.

As far as their side dishes, they ate whatever they could harvest, such as onions, beans, cabbage, carrots, plums, grapes, and raspberries. Imagine NO pumpkin pie!

Their version was a hollowed out pumpkin filled with milk,

honey, and spices and they roasted it on the hot ashes of a fire.

Stressful Holidays with the Family

By: Alayna Gallant ------------------------------------------- ----- Of course the holidays are going to be very different this year, with smaller family get-togethers, but they can still be stressful. Not everyone has that “picture perfect” family, and that’s ok! But how do we handle the stress?

-make plans for after a family event so you will have something to look forward to

-stay neutral!

-be kind

-take breaks if you need to, go for a walk or listen to music

-let your boundaries be known, maybe there is something you don’t want to discuss

-make sure you’re tone and body language isn’t disrespectful

-try to enjoy your family

Black Friday

By: Morgan Rodriques ------------------------------------------- ----- As we all know, Black Friday is going to be very different this year. Black Friday is November 27, 2020, and instead of waiting outside in long lines in the freezing cold, this year we get to cuddle up with our favorite blanket and do some online shopping. We don’t even have to wait until November 27!

Where are the best

deals predicted to be this year?

Some of the most popular Black Friday retailers are Walmart, Amazon, Kohl’s, Macy’s, American Eagle and many more. Many websites have also released ‘sneak peaks’ for this year’s sales, and some stores are having online events starting as early as November 4th! This is a good time to use those gift
