Reflection

God isn’t about surprises. Our joy comes from His

fidelity - from how he constantly

fulfills His promis-es, doing what He said He would do. True holiness is a journey, not a one time event. It’s a

season-like Advent.

December 16: Third Sunday of Advent

Light the first and second violet candle; and the rose candle.

The rose candle is lit the third Sunday of Advent, for this color anticipates and symbolizes the Christmas joy an-

nounced in the first word of the Entrance Antiphon: "Rejoice" (Latin, Gaudete). For this reason the Third Sunday is also called Gaudete Sunday, and rose color

vestments are permitted.

Advent: Dec 2 -Dec 24
