� Barrick is currently preparing a detailed Environmental Assessment for submission to Government so some of the information provided in this presentation may be subject to change and clarification within the final Environmental Assessment

� The Environmental Assessment is currently scheduled for finalisation during august 2013.

� The Environmental Assessment is currently scheduled for finalisation during august 2013.

Modification Project

� Barrick has decided to prepare an application to modify the existing development consent.

� The key change to the existing development consent is a cut-back of the existing approved open pit which would extend the life of operations at the Cowal Gold mine an additional four years

� Other changes would include;

� a larger footprint and higher waste rock emplacements

� Construction of a new water storage dam (D10) within the mining lease

� A new pump station to be constructed on the eastern side of Lake Cowal.

� Barrick has written to NSW Government advising that we will be seeking approval under Section 75W of the EP&A Act.

� Barrick will prepare an Environmental Assessment which will include

� A description of the existing environment

� An assessment of potential impacts of all stages of the Modification

� A description of measures that would be implemented to avoid, minimise and/or offset potential impacts

� The preparation of the Environmental Assessment involves a series of technical assessments, and a consultation program. These are all set to be commenced over the coming months.
