Installation Summary (see the Installation Video for all details and guidelines):

NOTE #1: We do not provide photos in this document. A complete video provides detailed visual imagery.NOTE #2: The Installation Video and this Summary illustrate installation for the 2+2+2 Model X vehicle configuration. Installation for other configurations is similar.

Step 1. Front row seat covers are provided in two pieces covering the seat cushion and upper portion (the back rest and back) of the seat. Begin with the driver-side seat, fitting the seat cushion first, then the upper portion of the seat. The seat covers should have kangaroo pockets (pouches) on the back of the upper portion. There are 2 straps at the rear of the seat cushion, 4 at the front, 2 on the sides, and 3 hook fasteners that are attached last. It’s a good idea to loosen the straps before you begin. Set the front straps at 2 – 3 inches so you can buckle near the front of the seat. Extend the side straps to about 6 inches and loosen the rear straps as much as possible. (see Video at 00:02:05 ff)

Step 2. Run the 2 rear cushion straps through the space between the cushion and the seat back. To accomplish this, use the seat controls to tilt the seat back to near horizontal and then push the straps through.

Step 3. Push the seat cushion into the crack between the cushion and the seat back. (see Video at 00:03:20 ff)

Step 4. On the driver side door side, run your hand and arm along the right side of the seat bottom and grab the rear strap. Use the buckle clip to attach to the front. (see Video at 00:05:02 ff) Do the same thing with the left strap. Tension the straps to tighten them and tension the seat cushion. Note: Do not attach the side straps until the end of your work on the seat. Do them last.

Step 5. Begin the installation of the upper portion of the seat. Note that there are two straps and two S-hooks (these will hook to the S-hooks on the seat cushion. Slide the piece over the top of the seat back and pull in downward and into place. (see Video at 00:08:04 ff)

Step 6. Extend the straps to full length and then run them through the slot between the seat cushion and the back. (see Video at 00:8:50 ff) Apply the same process described in Step 4 to attach the straps to the front straps of the seat cushion. (see Video at 00:09:40 ff) Patience is required here. The process isn’t difficult, but you’ll be working by feel. Pull the straps tight.

Step 7. Pull the “S” straps (hooks) from the back of the seat back and attach to the S straps from the front of the seat cushion. (see Video at 00:14:34 ff) Tuck all connected straps over the top of the S-strap connectors so no straps dangle—a clean install.

Step 8. Connect the side buckle straps under the seat beginning at the driver side across to the other side of the seat. (see Video at 00:15:52 ff) Pull the straps tight.

Step 9. Perform the same operations (Steps 2 through 8) for the passenger side seat.

Step 10. Each Middle row seat comes in one piece. Again extend all straps in preparation for the install.

Step 12. Place the seat cover over the seat back. Pull into place.

Step 11. Pick up the rear cushion piece of seat and slide the rear straps into the slot between the seat cushion and the seat back. To accomplish this, pull up on the fabric cushion cover that covers the slot. (see Video at 00:21:10 ff) Be sure to align the seat cover so that it leaves an opening for child safety seats hooks and the seat controls (on the upper side of the seat back). Use the controls to position the seat in a comfortable manner for the install.

Step 12. Using the velcro fasteners on the sides of the seat back, attach the front and back tightly. Redo if the fit is not snug. CAUTION: Be sure to align the airbag opening (a slit in the side of the seat back cover) so that it will not impede deployment of the air bag. (see Video at 00:22:50 ff)

Step 15. Connect the side buckle straps and then the S-hooks. Tuck any excess straps above the S-hook straps for a clean install. (see Video at 00:27:32 ff)

Step 16. The third row seats have five pieces—a seat bottom, two seat backs and two head rests. The installation sequence is (1) seat backs, (2) seat cushions, and (3) head rest covers. There are no straps on the back or head rest covers.

Step 17. Pull down one seat and slide a seat back over the other seat. Bring the other seat back up. (see Video at 00:30:22 ff)

Step 18. Pull down the seat that has the seat cover partially installed and wrap the cover around the seat back,. Use velcro to tighten the seat back with a snug fit. Put the seat back up and tuck the front of the seat back into the slot between the cushion and the seat back. (see Video at 00:31:12 ff)

Step 19. Go to the trunk opening and pull the seat back downward, velcroing the seat back, sides and front snugly. Be sure to properly align the cut-out for the power cord and the opening for the seat controls. (see Video at 00:33:05 ff)

Step 20. Pull the headrest cover over the headrest and tuck everything in for a smooth and tight fit. (see Video at 00:35:18 ff)

Step 21. Facing the rear fo the car from the rear of the second row, pop up the seat cushion. Note: you cannot remove thes seat cushion, but you can rotate it upward. This will allow you to get to the rear of the third row seats without having to disconnect any cabling. (see Video at 00:36:10 ff)

Step 22. Starting in the middle of the third row seat cushion at the back, and putting the straps on the top of the cover, tuck in the back of the seat cushion cover. Push through the buckle straps. (see Video at 00:37:18 ff)

Step 23. Rotate the front of the seat upward and connect and tension the buckle clips under the seat. Attach the cross straps. Be sure that opening for cup holders, USB port and seat belts are properly aligned. (see Video at 00:38:00 ff)

Step 24. Rotate the seat cushion down and press back into place.
