The school year is almost here! I would like to take the time to update everyone on the Elementary changes for the 16-17 school year! First, the front office is having a new “make-over”. We are placing a sick bay area in the back closet with a small restroom. This will absolutely help the secretaries monitor a sick child as they rest or wait for parent pick up. The staff work room will be moved in back of the office for easier access to supplies, etc for the secretaries. The first floor girls’ restroom had a complete update thanks to our maintenance man, Roger Zellner. He spent many hours lowering the ceiling, putting new flooring in, working with Monty Friebel for stall doors and counter top, etc……Looks terrific. We will also update the entrance way with new doors for security. Next-The new staff members: Kylee Fliger-4th grade, M.Ed. in Middle Childhood Education from Otterbein University.

Brittany Molnar, B.S. in Early Education from BGS University-2nd grade teacher.

Beth Hostettler, B.A. in Family/Consumer Science with minor in Fine Arts from Mount Vernon Nazarene College-new art teacher.

I do want to announce Ashley Rastorfer is the new Director of the Montessori program. She comes to us with an impressive background in pre-school and early elementary education. She has her Master’s Degree in Administration.

We do want to welcome all new teachers.

I am very excited about all the new building changes and hiring excellent new teachers. I feel we are ready to start a WONDERFUL new school year. Please pray for us as we approach the 2016-17 school year.

Prayer for Inactive Catholics:

Lord Jesus, for a variety of reasons, many people who once worshipped as faithful Catholics no longer attend Mass, re-ceive the sacraments or embrace the faith. May your Holy Spirit continue to reach out to them, and may they always find in the Church a community ready to receive them once more, hear their concerns and grow together in faith. Amen

BAD MEMORY The recollection of an injury is . . . a rusty arrow and poison for the soul. —St. Francis of Paola

Jubilee Year of Mercy Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Last Sunday’s “Parable of the rich fool” deliv-ered a compelling reason to do the right thing—now: “You fool, this night your life will be de-manded of you” (Luke 12:20). Today, Jesus warns us: “You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come” (12:40). Though we do not know when our Master will come, we do know what our Master expects to find. Jesus expects us to be vigilant (12:37) and diligent

(12:42) in our work for the kingdom, but also filled with reverent mercy toward our fellow servants and ourselves. Hopefully, Je-sus’ warning not to get drunk and beat each other up (12:45) does not apply to us literally! But what changes do I need to make, right now, so that the many people outside “the Master’s house” will want to come inside to experience the healing com-fort of Jesus’ own mercy in the compassion of Jesus’ modern-day disciples? —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

A Family Perspective - In today’s Gospel a servant WAITED for the master to return. Waiting is a normal part of family life. We wait for a child’s birth, then for small legs to catch up. Later we wait for teenagers to return home safely. Finally we wait alone anticipating a call or visit from an adult child. Waiting is sacred time, for even in the waiting we are connected. ~ by Bud Ozar
