Life of a women during the

renaissanceIn the Renaissance, women were to marry and have children , there main job was to take care of the household .

If a Women were given the opportunity to work they were sometimes paid less for same jobs as men , which meant that more women were unemployed.

Women who could not marry or didn’t have the money were required to become nuns or had to find work.

In the earlier times women weren't given that much importance , so to much of an education didn’t seem that important to be given to them at the time

During the renaissance, Women of higher status were given an education up to an extent, if of lower status the woman wanting an education usually studied to become a nun if not then the only other education provided was by there mothers of how to become a proper house wife and future mother.

women workers were often preferred for hired farm work. Women have always been a majority of the household servants. When a country family needed money, they would often send the daughters out to service or to day labor.

Elizabeth was born in the Chamber of Virgins on September 7th, 1533 Elizabeth’s father originally wanted a son so that he would carry on the throne but unfortunately all he had was two girls one of which is Queen Elizabeth the 1st

Queen Elizabeth ruled during the time of the renaissance and became an important figure in the history of England .

Queen Mary Elizabeth's’ sister also ruled during the renaissance but did not last as long and was later arrested by her own sister

Important Women During The Renaissance Period

Renaissance Daily LifeWomen of Lower Status usually lived in very small houses sometimes having more than four or five people living in the same house.

Since education wasn’t given to women that openly women had to spend most of their time indoors cooking and cleaning

Women if working ; as in a real job it would only be if one was widowed or divorced, A woman was underpaid if she were to work for someone else if in need of the money and if there was no man in the house at all, capable of working.

A Renaissance Women’s Marriage

Marriage was often delayed among the low status classes, sometimes a woman could not marry until she and her husband could afford to establish themselves and set up a household.

This meant that the man needed some land to farm or master in trade. Because land mostly descended in the male line, a daughter's share was in movable goods and money and went with her on her marriage.

During hard times, the birth of children tended to fall because marriages were delayed even longer, and during good times it rose because people had more and felt better about being able to start a family.
