• A great way to connect with parents, volunteers and your community.

• An additional volunteer recruitment tool.

• Also a way to create a wider audience for all your Region’s AYSO events: fundraising, tournaments, etc.

Facebook Tip #1

Set up your Facebook account as a “Business Page” and not a “Personal Profile”:– No “friending”, collecting “likes”.– Special Administrator controls.– Connect with other local business Facebook

pages.– Advanced moderation capabilities.– Handy records of “Insights”: How many

people are interacting with your page.

Facebook Tip #2• Stick with it:

– Be responsive. Respond to posts, questions, concerns in 24-48 hrs.

– Be consistent. Come up with a posting schedule that works for you and post consistently.

– Be aware. You (or the designated moderator) must pay close attention to the page to ensure spam or malicious posts are not lingering.Scan with your smart

phone for AYSO’s Social Media Guidelines.

Facebook Tip #3• Keep Safety First

– Be respectful. If a user violates your “Page Rules” remove the post. Repeated offender? Ban the user.

– Be savvy. Edit your settings to ensure to foul language and spam posts will be automatically removed.

– Be safe. Abide by Safe Haven’s social media policy. Important: Don’t tag minors or use their full names.

service and choose a template that works for you.

• Tailor your email lists to your email topic.

• Sending a Region newsletter? Create a workable send schedule.
