Quick Guide: Wedding Photography It’s a question that’s been asked a few times in our forums over the last few months so while I’m not a Pro Wedding Photographer I thought it was time to share a few tips on the topic of Wedding Photography.

1. Create a ‘Shot List’ Get the couple idea or get the couple to think ahead about the shot they’d like you to capture on the day and compile a list.

2. Wedding Photography Family Photo Coordinator Get the couple to nominate a family member who can be the director of the shoot. They can round everyone up, help get them in the shot and keep things moving so that the couple can get back to the party.

3. Scout the Location Visit different places that you’ll be shooting the big day. Check which angle is the best for the couple and which area is good to capture the moment of the bride.

4. In Wedding Photography Preparation is Key You need to be well prepared don’t forget to have a backup batteries, memory card, cameras that you will use in the big day. Think about the routes and times to get to places and get the itinerary of the full day shoot include all the places and timings in each area.

5. Set expectations with the Couple Show your work style to the couple such as the proper posing, color correction, color grading and the proper angle and how many shot they want and if they want to try the ceiling shot ask some question to get idea on how you will handle them.

6. Shoot the small details Photograph rings, backs of dresses, shoes, flowers, table settings, menus etc. – these help give the end album an extra dimension. Flick through a wedding magazine in a news stand for a little inspiration.

7. Use Two Cameras Yes, you need to use two to three camera set it up with a different lens. Try to shoot with wide angle lens and one longer lens as large as 200mm.
