I was born to a large Italian family, but somehow found my heart in France. The two things I loved most in high school were my two French exchang-es and the dark room. In college, I continued to explore from the behind the camera while living in France. Its no surprise then when I graduated that I opened a Foreign Language and Culture Center where I started my career in teaching French. For five years, Parlez-Vous Foreign Language and Cul-ture Center was a place for children and adults alike to explore their passions for all language and gain confidence and skills to use the new lan-guages that they worked hard to acquire in any-way they could.

I was married and began also working as a public school French teacher with Fairfax County Pub-lic Schools. All along, finding my love for the lens

growing as my family grew to include three boys.

In 2013 I was inspired to bring back my first business venture, this time as a Pho-tography business. Parlez-Vous Photography was birthed, as a bridge between my two passions, French language and photography, while nurturing the most important love of my life - my three children. In June 2014 I left my career as a French teacher to become a work-at-home mom and photographer.

For me, Parlez-Vous Photography is my chance to do it all! I am able to be present in my family – and I am able to meet so many wonderful families and document their special times together. Whether I get to spend a few hours with a new momma as she is lost in the love of a newborn baby; giggle at the face of a 1 year old tasting cake for the first time; chase a 3 year old until we are both out of breath; hear the remarkable stories of a future leader in a senior session; get teary eyed at a wedding ceremony – these are the reasons I love to be behind the camera!

My experience with Rachael has been supreme; working with her was an absolute pleasure. After making the mistake of ONLY taking my daughter’s senior pictures with the photographers that came to her school I knew I was going to have professional portraits taken of my son his se-nior year, one on one. I happened to see a the family pictures a colleague had received from Rachael and called her right

away. Within minutes of meeting us, Rachael had my sleep de-prived unhappy son laughing, smiling and taking some of the best

We had such a great experience with Rachael from beginning to end. Unfortunately, a few days before our scheduled shoot the weather forecast called for cold gusting winds the day of our shoot. Rachael was very flexible working with her schedule to reschedule our shoot so that we could still take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage.

What’s Included

pre-session consultation1.So you want to have beautiful images taken today, to have to remember for always? Our time together will start when you initially contact me with your ideas. We’ll spend the next few weeks (or months) talking about what sorts of images excite you, what visions you have, what you think would make you over the moon excited. If you don’t have any ideas yet, I’ll get to know you and your family to help create the best shoot for you.

session2.When the day comes, we’ll meet at our pre-arranged spot with our pre-arranged props, and we’ll just let the fun unfold. While we will have visions and plans, I’ll never push something, we’ll just guide and let it unfold. If we’re working with kids, we’ll play and laugh before trying to capture that same spirit in the camera.


image reveal & ordering consultation3.Included in your session fee will be an Image Reveal & Order Consultation. At the Image Re-veal and Ordering Consultation, which is pre-scheduled for 2-3 weeks after your session, we’ll do just that. I will present to you your images and help guide you through the Ordering process. This consultation will take place at your home (when possible), which will give us the opportu-nity to see where your new images will fit best in your life. You will be placing your image orders at this meeting, so it would be best to pick a time when all decision makers can be present. Along with your images, I’ll bring with me samples of the products to consider. This session ends with your final selections and order for your personal and timeless memories.



What to Wear

Dress everyone coordinating, but not matching.

Choose a color scheme and use it to mix and match solids and patterns.

Do not dress kids in the same outfit

Dress children (and adults too) in clothes that they are comfortable in and fit their unique styles.

Allow each person to show their unique style, but not without consulting or coordinating with the others in the group. If one person has a strong opinion on colors or style, you might consider co-ordinating with them to find a put together look.

Don’t be afraid of loud colors in accessories (Definitely add accessories – a scarf, a big necklace, a tie)

Dress for the weather: Embrace the cold with a warm sweater or fashionable jacket. Ditch your long sleeves on a hot summer day. Also keep in mind season-friendly colors.

Newborn shoots are typically done when the baby is 7-10 days new to capture him or her in all their sleepy, squishy, tiny toes and kissable nose glory! Parents should book their newborn session before the baby is born. A tentative date is set based on the due date, however we keep in touch after the birth to confirm a final date.

Newborn shoots are done in my studio where everything is kept warm and peaceful for the new baby (and momma, too). I have everything I need for a successful shoot, but I love when families incorporate things that are special to you as well. Please let me know during our pre-consultation if you have something in mind.

Closer to your shoot, I will send you a list of tips for our time together. A typical newborn shoot will last 2-4 hours. Your new prince or princess sets the clock so we break food snacks, diapers, and cuddles. The entire shoot should be relaxing and fun for baby and the glowing new mom!

& familyWe run. We hide. We play - That’s how my sessions work, particularly with curi-ous children who really want to check stuff out around them. We play and run, and then stop for some shots – and off again to see something else, followed by a few more shots. As a mom of three MOVING boys, I know that sitting in front of the camera is tough. I try to find what makes my littlest friends happy and wanting to the center of attention for our hour together. That said, I also be-lieved that a happy family photo with everyone looking is also nice to have as a part of your investment, so we focus on that too.

A child or family pre-consultation is re-ally important for me to make a quicker connection to each person involved. Not only will it help me to give you the best final product, but also it will help me find the true smiles in kids and adults alike.

Senior photos are a wonderful opportunity for High School Juniors and Seniors to capture this time of your life as you graduate and move into YOUR next chapter. Through our pre-session consultation, I will learn what things to include that are most important to you now, as well as capturing images that will be timeless and memories forever.

Parlez-Vous Photography is available for any events that you would like to freeze a memory in time. A child’s birthday party. A religious ceremony. Your Wedding!

Each event is different and so is the planning and final product. Please inquire for more details to have me photograph your event!
