Katy ISD Parent Page – A View Into Elementary Instruction
Katy ISD Elementary Curriculum and Instruction has recently launched a link to a Canvas
course (no log-in required) that will give parents a firsthand look into elementary instruc-
tion. This page can be found under the ‘Parent Tab’ on the Katy ISD homepage or by click-
ing on the following link: https://katyisd.instructure.com/courses/84117
This Canvas course will give you several resources and tools to help you understand what
your students are doing in the classroom and also ways that you can help them at home.
There are three main sections to the course: ‘Windows Into the Classroom’, ‘Questions and
Answers’, and ‘Parent Resources.’ Under the first section, ‘Windows Into the Classroom,’
you will find instructional videos for Math, Word Study, and Reading (these videos are be-
ing updated all the time), along with a brief presentation about what curriculum looks like
in Katy ISD. Under the next section, ‘Questions and Answers,’ you will find contact infor-
mation for the Curriculum Coordinators. The last section, ‘Parent Resources,’ will direct
you to other various resources that might be helpful to you.
