WEARPROOF STEEL

FIELDS OF APPLICATION:

Earthmoving machines, gravel crushing and carrying plants, mills and screens, plates

for conveyor belts, blades, flatbeds, buckets, presses for scraps, mine and quarry

equipment, mixers, cement industry, tanks/fans etc.

Wearproof steel is particularly suitable for constructing plants including sections exposed

to heavy stress.

In spite of being characterised by extremely high resistance and hardness, wearproof

steel features ample capacity for deformation under presses and bending machines.

To carry out a free cold bending operation, it is advisable to proceed slowly, perpendicularly

to the rolling direction, and to observe scrupulously the minimum values set for the

radiuses of curvature of the punch and for the die width.

filters, industrial fans, flue pipes, air-preheaters and exchangers in general, boilers, railway

and underground carriages, fencing in general, lamp posts.

STEEL SHEETS WITH A HIGH YIELD POINT FOR COLD SHAPINGAND BENDING

FIELDS OF APPLICATION:

Highway trailer trucks, high capacity trucks, buckets, mobile crane telescopic arms, lifting

arms and parts of machines under great strain used in public works.

High-resistance steel suitable for forming, bending and cold drawing operations. These

are fine-grained steels, with a low sulphur and limited inclusion content; they are available

in a wide range of qualities with different minimum guaranteed yields.

CNC OXYGEN LANCE CUTTING

“Fe” black steel, striated and studded, high-tensile and wearproof steel.Material can be pre-blasted.

This is the traditional system for carbon steel sheet metal cutting. Themajor advantages of this cutting systemare its limited costs and high versatilityas far as thickness is concerned. Moreover, it ensures excellent cutverticatility, sharp edges and precisiondown to the millimetre.

Carbonium steel

• Oxycut

When cutting a narrow width flat bar with a single torch, the maintenance of a high

accuracy is made difficult by thermal distortions, and it is a common practice to

employ multiple torches for such a process.

It is the “twin torch” that has materialized the above concept.

COMPARISON OF PLASMA, OXYFUEL AND LASER

Laser provides excellent cut quality and productivity on material less tha6 mm. Laser technology has high capital equipment, running andmaintenance costs, therefore a high level of business volume is requiredto pay back the cost of the equipment.

Laser

OxyfuelOxyfuel is limited to mild steel and is not effective onstainless steel or aluminum.

PlasmaPlasma provides an optimal mix of cut quality, productivity and operatingcost for mild steel, stainless and aluminum across a wide range ofthicknesses at a competitive capital equipment price.

With the new generation of folding presses installed in our company, we can fold the angle you need in spiteof thickness differences, elastic returns and without considering the sheet sense of the materials, thanks to theultimate generation of CNC’s which measure the thickness and determine the elastic return of the sheet in realtime, and which perfectly prepare the matrix punch for each fold. In this way it is possible to integrate the machinedata with the theoretic calculation already carried out by the technical office.

Here there follow some examples taken from the wide range of NON-STANDARD PROFILESthat can be shaped with our machines. Besides sheet metal cutting and bending, our factorycan work sheet metal so as to shape holes, slots, corner cut-off, frets, etc., according to ourcustomers’ drawings. The main advantages in using non-standard sections are: quick assembly, less waste, greater productivity, more savings.

HISTORY, QUALITY AND INNOVATIONUnder the sign of quality: this is the direction that has always inspired Officine Meccaniche Zoppelletto

Spa, with offices at via Parmesana 57 in the town of Cavazzale di Monticello C.Otto, Italy. This is

all the more true when realizing that, long before the introduction of ISO 9000 standards, Officine

Meccaniche Zoppelletto were already appreciated and stood out for their huge investments into

research and study. This company philosophy enabled Officine to steadily raise the quality and

competitiveness of its products and services, to the point that nowadays the company can boast a

prime position on the market. We need underline that the results we have achieved did not come

by chance, but were the consequence of the thorough, smart and far-reaching commitment that has

been characterising the company since its setting up in 1953 by Gino Zoppelletto, a dynamic

entrepreneur, the company chairman and managing director, the life and soul of Officine Meccaniche

Zoppelletto.

In its half-a-century reliable and competent work, the company was always ready to take on the

innovations made possible by new technologies. Officine Meccaniche Zoppelletto began by

manufacturing agricultural and wine-making machines; later, following the crisis of the agricultural

sector at the end of the 1960’s, it turned its attention to other directions, in particular launching the

production of semi-finished goods for metal working workshops. At the beginning the firm was but

a craftsman’s workshop, since Mr Gino Zoppelletto started his pioneering activity in a one-room

plant at Monticello C.Otto with a small lathe and a welding machine, the only available tools at the

time; later on a new and different business strategy enabled the company to expand into two new

industrial buildings, where brand new and modern equipment, shearing machines and presses have

been installed.

Today Officine Meccaniche Zoppelletto Spa works over a covered surface of 10,000 sq.m. with

about forty employees who –as the owners wish to underline– are an excellent human resource that

guarantees high performances and aims at achieving further market success and higher quality.

The owners add: “Our workers are highly skilled, not only thanks to the guidance of experienced

chief foremen, but also because of thorough professional training achieved through constant update,

courses and in-house training sessions".

When the turning point was decided upon, i.e. when the company turned from a craftsman-like

activity into an industrial reality, the contribution paid by Adriano and Alessandro Zoppelletto, the

founder’s sons, was crucial. These two young managers proved able to interpret this epoch-making

change in a smart way. Under their drive the company began to address the market of semi-finished

goods specifically, with advanced machinery and technologies and, more recently, with two sheet-

metal coil flattening machines operated on behalf of third parties. The company pride are an oxygen

lance cutting line, which machines sheet metal having a thickness from 5 to 300mm, and a plasma

cutting line to cut materials with a thickness up to 50mm, stainless steel included.

Officine machines any type of carbon steel, hot stainless steel, titanium and aluminium. Therefore

this company has all the necessary requirements; its target is represented by industrial plant builders,

manufacturers of machine tools, industrial and public cleaners, agricultural machines and equipment,

ascent systems: chair lifts and cableways, builders of amusement parks.

Among its most interesting supplies, we would mention some oil coolers for power stations in the

former Yugoslavia, mobile gates to safeguard the Venetian lagoon, parts of the new cableways at

Cermis and Recoaro (Italy) and some structures for the Euro Disney amusement park near Paris.
