En 2011 la Fundación ha cumplido 31 años de

trayectoria, siempre bajo la Presidencia de Honor

de S. A. R. el Príncipe de Asturias. Como en los

ejercicios precedentes, hemos trabajado para lograr

nuestros fines fundacionales, aunando las hondas

raíces asturianas de la Fundación con el ámbito

internacional de nuestra actividad.

Las reuniones de los Jurados, el fallo de los

Premios Príncipe de Asturias y del Premio al Pueblo

Ejemplar de Asturias, la programación de la Semana

de los Premios y la solemne ceremonia de entrega,

así como la actividad del Área Musical han sido el

centro de nuestros trabajos. El principal patrimonio

de la Fundación es la excelencia de quienes han

recibido nuestros galardones. Un eje esencial de

nuestra actuación se dirige, por ello, a fomentar e

intensificar la relación institucional con nuestros

premiados.

Todas las actividades de la Fundación son posibles

gracias a la generosidad, el apoyo y el compromiso de

nuestros patronos y miembros protectores a quienes

quiero testimoniar mi agradecimiento.

Para la consecución de nuestros fines,

hemos buscado la mayor eficiencia, austeridad y

transparencia en la gestión. Ello ha sido posible

gracias a la ilusión y al esfuerzo del magnífico equipo

de personas con que cuenta la Fundación y a los que

quiero mostrar también mi reconocimiento.

Estas son las claves de nuestra tarea y la mejor

base para afrontar el futuro con esperanza y siempre

con el compromiso de llevar a cabo nuestra labor

en beneficio de la sociedad española, a la que

agradecemos la confianza que deposita en nosotros.

As of 2011, the Foundation has been in existence for

31 years, always under the honorary presidency of

HRH the Prince of Asturias. As in previous years, we

have worked to achieve our founding goals, uniting

the Foundation’s deep-seated Asturian roots with the

international scope of our activities.

The Jury meetings, the granting of the Prince of

Asturias Awards and the Exemplary Town of Asturias

Award, the programming of Awards Week and the

Awards Ceremony in addition to the activities of the

Music Department have been the focus of our efforts.

The Foundation’s principal asset is the excellence of

those who have received our Awards. An essential

focus of our actions is therefore aimed at fostering

and strengthening the institutional relationship we

maintain with our Laureates.

All of the Foundation’s activities are made

possible thanks to the generosity, support and

commitment of our trustees and patrons, to whom I

wish to publicly express my thanks.

To achieve our aims, we have sought to manage

the Foundation with greater efficiency, austerity and

transparency. This has been possible thanks to the

enthusiasm and effort of the magnificent team of

people at the Foundation, to whom I also wish to

express my appreciation.

These are the keys to our undertaking as well as

the best basis for facing the future with hope, always

with the commitment to carry out our work on

behalf of Spanish society, to which we are grateful for

the trust that it has placed in us.
