Local Artists @ Your Library

Meghan Oleyer, a local artist who recently displayed her artwork at Prosser Public Library, has overcome many obstacles in life, including developmental delays and the use of only her left hand. While Meghan has had no formal training, she picked up her artistry from her grandfather and uncle, both artists themselves. Meghan especially enjoys painting birds, and also creates jewelry.

For aspiring artists, particularly those with a disability, Meghan’s advice is, “Don’t stop. Don’t say ‘no.’ You can do whatever you put your mind to. If someone says you can’t do it, show them you can.” In addition to art, Meghan also loves reading, and was thrilled to have the opportunity to display her paintings at Prosser Public Library – one of her favorite places!

Beth S. Goldberg is the next artist whose work will be on display at the library from April-May 2019. Beth’s exhibition, titled “Inspired Expressions,” will include mixed media artwork.

Beth explains, “There is a belief that art can express a basic human truth as well as an insight into one’s inner self. The diverse works in this exhibition were inspired by a range of issues including music, nature, spirituality, world events, and the human condition.”

Beth has won many awards for her art, lectured at universities, given workshops, and consulted as an art therapist for various organizations. Her work has been exhibited at numerous mu-

seums and galleries and is included in many prestigious corporate as well as private collections.

An Artist’s Reception will be held for Beth S. Goldberg at Prosser Public Library on Friday, May 10, 4-5 PM.

Yearbook Donations Welcome

Prosser Public Library welcomes donations of Bloomfield High School yearbooks from all years. The library currently has a limited selection of yearbooks dating back to the 1920s, but would like to expand the collection. Yearbooks are available for use by members of the public upon request.

See items you currently have checked out

Renew items

Pay fines and bills using a credit card

Place holds on items owned by Bloomfield and other libraries in our shared system

Turn on your “Reading History” to see items you have checked out in the past

Create reading lists

NEW: Coming soon, you will be prompted to create a numeric-only PIN to sign into your online library account. You will also need your library card number to login. Look for more information soon, or ask a librarian!
