LATIN DANCE STYLES

Latin dance includes a wide variety of dances originating in Latin America and Cuba.

• The term “Latin Dance” may be used in two different ways:

1. To denote dances in Latin America,2. To name a category of International style ballroom dance.

• Learning Latin dances is fairly easy,as most of the dances are made up of the same basic foot step.

• There are some kinds of Latin dance:

1. Samba2. Rumba3. Cha-cha-cha4. Salsa

SAMBA

• The ballroom samba has its origins in Brazil at the beginning of the 20th century.

• The Samba is a partner dance.• Dance movements,which do not change depending on the style of Samba music being played.

carnaval in every February.• Brazilian society is proud of Samba.• The key point of Samba is hip movements.

RUMBA

• Rumba is one of the ballroom dances which occurs in social dance and in international competitions.

• Rumba derives from studies made by dance teacher Monsieur Pierre who partnered Doris Labelle.

• Rumba is a slow dance of about 120 beats per minute corresponds to both in music and in dance.

• Rumba which presents love of Latin,impulsive and emotional.

CHA-CHA-CHA

• Cha-cha-cha is the name of a Latin American dance of Cuban origin.

• It is danced to the music introduced by Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrin in 1953.• It is may be either danced to authentic Cuban music or Latin pop or Latin rock.
