PEOPLE:- The people of Himachal love colour. Their dress patterns follow the local climate. The people of Lahaul wear long gowns and

trousers but their gowns do not have mandarin sleeves.

They wear grass or leather boots. Their caps indicate the region they come from.

ECONOMY The economy of the state is highly

How To Reach Himachal?Shimla:- By Air: From Delhi airport to Jubbarhati air port. By Rail: Shimla is connected by a broadgauge line up

to Kalka (90 km). The journey between Kalka and Shimla takes about six hours and is one of the finest ways of enjoying the landscape. The Shivalik Express is a deluxe train on this route. Delhi (380 km), Chandigarh (120 km) and Kalka (90 km) from Shimla.

By Road: Shimla is connected by road to all major cities in north India. Taxi cabs for Shimla are available at Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala and Kalka.Buses can also be chartered.

Situated atop a hillock the Hidimba Devi Temple is surrounded by thick deodar forests and was built in 1553. The temple is dedicated to the Rakshasa Hidimba who was also the wife of the Pandava Bhima.

Sultanpur Palace was formerly called as the Rupi Palace and is newly built on the remnants of the older which was damaged in an earthquake. The palace houses various wall paintings and its marvelous blend of Pahari style architecture and colonial style.

Beas River is often described as the Heart of Kullu valley and is known for its various camping spots and water sports. The river also marks the eastern border of Alexander the Great’s empire in 326 BC. The flow of the river is very fast and is not fit for swimming, but is the perfect for Rafting.
