Case Study Investigating premature cracking in an ID fan AnAustralianpowerstationfoundsignificantcrackingwithintheimpellerononeoftheirinduceddraftfans.Theimpellerhadbeenreplacedthreeyearsearlierandhadbeensubjectedtoseveraldesignchanges,suchthatthereplacementimpellercouldbeconsideredasadifferentstructuretotheoriginal.hrl:wasengagedbythepowerstationoperatorstoinvestigatetherootcauseofprematurecrackinginthenewimpeller.hrl:investigatedthecrackingby:• installing(wireless)straingaugesontothenewimpeller
