Georgia Studies 8th Grade – Mr. Page
In 8th grade students will be studying their home state of Georgia. Students will discuss geography, government/civics, economics, and historical understanding. Students will also look at current events and Georgia's relationship with the United States as the 13th colony and 4th state to join the Union. Grades and Assignments Students will be graded by categories and percentages.

Class work and Projects – This category will consist of daily projects and assignments. Anything that is not in your notebook or an assessment will be considered class work. Projects will be assigned throughout the year. Many assignments will be assigned through Google Classroom. Tests and Quizzes - These categories will consist of any assessments. We will take a Word-up vocabulary quiz every week, unless otherwise noted. Tests will be given after the teacher feels the students have mastered the content. Quizzes and other forms of formative assessments will be used to monitor mastery before tests. Notebook AND Composition Book– Each day, students will have a warm up during the opening of class. It is the student’s responsibility to collect their warm-ups in a folder to be turned in each Thursday at the beginning of class. Warm-ups should be dated and on the same sheet of paper until it is filled up (front and back). Warm-ups count as participation grades. Your composition notebook will hold your Word-up vocabulary master list and interactive assignments. You will leave this notebook in class daily, where it will be checked each 9 weeks as a test grade. Parent Communication My website will contain valuable class information at pagedade.weebly.com. headphones (optional), library book, and anything you are supposed to turn in. ***Students may bring tissues, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for a House Point.
