“This course introduces students to a variety of new and emerging technologies used in today's online environment. It covers various social networking platforms, content and learning management tools, web conferencing, immersive environments, and other trends in social computing.”

LIBR 203: Syllabus (Immersive Environments portion)

Students will learn what virtual worlds are and how they are being used in libraries and other information environments. Students will have the option to enter the Second Life immersive environment or to study videos and readings without entering.

Lib 203 Syllabus (Immersive Environments)

Students will demonstrate competence by:

1) Completing a multiple-choice quiz of 30 questions with a score of 70% or better

OR

2) Entering Second Life then filing a report on their experience on their personal blogs and uploading a picture of their avatar.
