The products measure mechanical and geometrical variables. Dominating technologies are the electro-magnetic Pressductor® and the Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technologies.
Force Measurement products are found worldwide and there is an extensive installed base in the metal and paper industries. Long-term customer satisfaction is ensured by a complete portfolio of support services.
To assist customers, Force Measurement products and systems are supported throughout their life cycle by a Customer Support Program targeted at securing and improving the performance, functionality and reliability of installed products and systems.
Various forms of service and support agreements can be arranged for every customer’s needs and requirements. A service contract can include agreements of service, preventative maintenance, training, technical support, remote service, consulting services and spare parts supply.
ABB keeps a large number of spare parts in stock for immediate delivery. These can be found at Parts OnLine (www.abb.com/partsonline). Parts not listed there can be requested by making an online inquiry. In addition to spare parts, repair and exchange services are provided.
The Product Life Cycle The life cycle of a product is divided into 4 phases: Active, Classic, Limited and Obsolete.
In each phase ABB commits to supply, support and service purchased products so that reliability and performance are kept at satisfactory levels throughout their lifetime.
The current lifecycle status of Force Measurements products and related services is summarized in the table found on the opposite page.
ABB is committed to supply spare parts and after market services in all lifecycle statuses exept for the Obsolete status, where they might not be available due to possible lack of component supplies.
