The Oregon Trail When Henry Sager decided to go west in 1844, he wasn`t alone. During the 1840`s thousands of families made the same journey. The families packed or squeezed all

they needed in a wagon and began their long walk to Oregon or California. Today we call those people pioneers or settlers, at the time, they were known as emigrants. The earliest families that went were viewed slightly crazy. The emigrants understood the

risks they were taking. However their desire for fresh land of their own was very strong. Their desire for adventure was very strong to. In small groups the in huge

numbers they set off along the Oregon Trail.

How did children entertain them self when they traveled? They had to have fun. They did not have TV, or laptop, or Xbox, Nintendo wii, playstation. THEY play BINGO!
