preparing for the Awards Ceremony. The event - promoted

for 20 years by ALA Assoarchitetti and supported by Estel

Group - will be held in Vicenza on 22nd and 23rd June in the

Palladian buildings that are an international symbol of

architecture and which have generously been made available

by the City of Vicenza.

constructive process.This is recognition of a positive and

stimulating role that along with the abilities of the architects

involved contributes to the creation of good architecture.

Open to public and private clients from all over the world, the

event selects and presents a number of architectural

buildings as a visible sign of contemporary research in which

the contribution to quality derives from the partnership

between architect and client. Since its foundation, more than

8,000 entries have been entered in the contest with over 50

countries taking part. Over 200 events have been organized

and the international roadshow has visited more than 50

countries.

The list of rreennoowwnneedd ddeessiiggnneerrss from previous editions

includes Gae Aulenti, Campo Baeza, Mario Botta, Guido

Canali, Massimiliano Fuksas, Von Gerkan Marg Und Partner,

Zaha Hadid, Kisho Kurokawa, Mecanoo, Manfredi Nicoletti,

Erik Owen Moss, Dominique Perrault, Paul de Ruiter, Piero

Sartogo, Studio Odile Decq, Oscar Tusquets, Claude Vasconi

and Cino Zucchi.

This year for the 10th edition there were about 400 entries

with the participation of almost 40 countries from around

the world including Argentina, the Philippines, France,

Germany, Japan, Great Britain, India, Peru, Portugal, Russia,

the United States, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vietnam.

For this tenth edition, the International Jury made up of

architects, clients, artists, personalities and professionals of

unquestionable authority and experience has assigned the

following awards:

– the Dedalo Minosse International Award to a client who

has commissioned a freelance architect from any country;

– the Dedalo Minosse OCCAM – Under 40 International

Award to a client who has commissioned a young freelance

architect from any country;

– the ALA Award – Assoarchitetti Fondazione Inarcassa to a

client from any country who has commissioned a freelance

– the ALA-Assoarchitetti – Under 40 Award to a client from

Estel for Dedalo

During the evaluation and assessment process, special

attention was paid to social, economic and environmental

sustainability, Design for All, the development and

conservation of the environment, landscape and

architectural heritage, the use of innovative technologies and

materials, the enhancement of local traditions and languages,

the multidisciplinary design approach and the integration of

art/architecture and design/architecture.

The names of the award winners and those mentioned in the

2016/2017 edition will be officially announced at the awards

ceremony on 23rd June at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza.

The winning projects will be on display ffrroomm 2244tthh JJuunnee ttoo

1166tthh JJuullyy in VViicceennzzaa at the Palazzo Chiericati Civic

Museum.
