This Ashcroft thermometer series has a hermetic seal and anexternal adjustment in the rear of the case. As with otherAshcroft industrial bimetal thermometers, it has a Maxivision dialwhich eliminates parallax by placing the pointer on the sameplane as the graduations. The connection locations are rear,lower, and Everyangle.

The hermetic seal is intended to prevent entry of moistureinto the casing, thus minimizing the possibility of icing or fogginginside the case. The window stays clear, and with the Maxivisiondial, precise readings are certain.

Thecase/socket joint is also welded and provides a permanent sealin the event that liquid filling is required. This rugged, solid-front aluminum case pressure gauge istops in its field. It is available as a weatherproof hermeticallysealed or liquid-filled version in 4.5" and 6" sizes in pressures to30,000 psi. Like the Ashcroft 1279 process pressure gauge, it can beeasily field converted from the weatherproof version to either thesealed or liquid-filled version using an optional kit. Ranges50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 psi are available in 6" hermeticallysealed and liquid-filled cases. All size cases are coated with black epoxy which willwithstand most environmental conditions. The solid-front Ashcroft phenolic case gauge is truly anindustry first. Offered in 4.5" size only, weather-proof,hermetically sealed or liquid-filled versions. The weatherproofgauge is easily field converted to a hermetically sealed or liquid-filled gauge with a special kit. Molded threads at the front and rear of the case provide axialseals with the use of threaded rings. The ring is glass-filledpolypropylene. In the weather-proof version, the pressure reliefback is polypropylene, fastened with stainless steel screws.
