DigitalStorytellingLessonPlanTeacher:ElisabethMcDowellLessonPlanTitle:AmendmentstotheUnitedStatesConstitutionGrade:5thSubject:SocialStudies;government,civicsIntroduction:ThislessonsupportsthefifthgradeGeorgiaPerformanceStandardsthatexpectstudentstounderstandhowtheirgovernmentworksandhowdemocracyiscontinued.ThestudentsbegantheyearstudyingtheCivilWarandhavestudiedchangesinAmericanhistoryfromthatdateforward.TheGPSstandardsforfifthgraderequirestudentstounderstandhowparticularamendmentstotheU.S.ConstitutionmaintainarepresentativedemocracyStudentshaveachoiceinwhichamendmenttheywouldliketocreatetheirgroupdigitalstorytellingprojecton.Studentswillbegivenadigitalresourcekitandastoryboardtemplateinordertohelpputtheirprojecttogether.GeorgiaPerformanceStandards:

• SS5CG2ThestudentwillexplaintheprocessbywhichamendmentstotheU.S. Constitutionaremade. a.ExplaintheamendmentprocessoutlinedintheConstitution. b.Describethepurposefortheamendmentprocess.
