The CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification exam is designed to show that the successful candidate has the knowledge to identify and explain basic computer components, set up a basic workstation, conduct basic software installation, establish basic network connectivity, identify compatibility issues, and identify/prevent basic security risks. Understand the functions and types of devices used within a computer system.

Apply basic computer maintenance and support principles.

Exam formatThe FC0-U51 exam, delivered through the Pearson VUE Test Center Network, contains up to 75 multiple-choice and performance-based test items and has a duration of 60 minutes. The passing score is 650 on a scale of 100-900.

Course prerequisitesCompTIA IT Fundamentals is aimed at those considering a career in IT and computer-related fields. Consequently, there are no special prerequisites for you to meet to successfully start this course. We have made the assumption that you don't know much about how computers or software work, or even how to use them. Some experience with using a keyboard and mouse will be helpful but is not essential:
