TRANSFER CREDIT FROM ANOTHER COLLEGE

If you started a degree at another regionally or nationally accredited college or university, you may be able to transfer credits toward your CCU degree.

Associate Degree: up to 45 credits

Bachelor’s Degree: up to 90 credits

PRIOR LEARNING CREDIT

Save time and money by earning college credit for your life experience! There are two ways of doing so: credit by portfolio and credit by exam. Build a portfolio of your post-high school personal and professional learning experiences. Or take advantage of low-cost CLEP, DSST, and UExcel testing options to test out of electives and many general education requirements.

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES The Associate of Arts in Communication Studies will provide you with a solid introduction to a wide-ranging field, equipping you with an understanding of communication theory and application. With this degree in Communication, you’ll gain proficiency in a variety of areas, ranging from resolving interpersonal conflicts to understanding the role of media in our society. Plus, you’ll develop skills to create compelling messages for wherever your career takes you — business, journalism, politics, or nonprofit work.

Each of our Communication classes will also integrate biblical principles into your learning, so you see how the Bible applies to different facets of communication, such as the First Amendment or cross-cultural communication. With this foundation, you’ll be prepared for the next step in your career or continuing studies with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies.

BACHELOR OF ARTS IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies will provide you with an excellent knowledge of communication theory and practical application. You’ll develop an understanding of interpersonal, group, and organizational communication, including a grasp of social media and communication via emerging technologies. Plus, with a Christian worldview integrated into all communication courses, you’ll see how ethics, meaning, and truth are essential to how we communicate.

With a Communication degree, you’ll get training in a variety of important topics, including cross-cultural communication, persuasive communication, and communication law. With a broad understanding of what takes up 75% of every person’s waking hours — communication — you’ll find job possibilities in areas ranging from business and advertising, to radio and journalism, and even politics.

CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES The Certificate in Communication Studies will provide you with the fundamentals of communication, including the principles and dynamics of interpersonal relationships, the value and impact of social media, the application of effective cross-cultural communication, and the development of advanced oral communication.

Topics of study in this Communication program include interpersonal communication, mass communication, public speaking, and cross-cultural communication. Courses are taken online, providing you with the flexibility to study at convenient times and places.

This certificate is available as a standalone program, or you can transfer the credits from your certificate courses in communications to our associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. The Certificate in Communication Studies can also be used to supplement any CCU bachelor’s degree, providing you with principles for more effective communication in your career and other areas of your life.
