PRECISION CLEANING SYSTEM

Lewis Corp., Oxford, Conn.

Lewis Corp.‘s fully programmable precision clean- ing system is designed to meet customers’ specifi- cations with a throughput average of one basket every 5 minutes. The process consists of a convey- orized demagnetizer feeding a powered accumu- lating load conveyor. Individual elevators and a common index mechanism transfer the covered baskets through the 4-stage ultrasonic rotating/ agitating wash and rinse tanks. The basket of parts then travels through a conveyorized forced- hot-air dryer section with a final cool-down area to a powered return conveyor, which accumulates the cleaned baskets.
