Arrangement for sealing a master cylinder on the side of the piston rodApplicant: Schaeffler Technologies Ag & Co Kg, GermanyAn arrangement has been developed for sealing a master cylinder on the side of the piston rod. It is particularly relevant to a hydraulically actu-ated clutch or brake system, in which the rod connected to the piston of the master cylinder is protected – relative to the housing of the master cylinder – by a bellows-type seal, which prevents dirt from entering the master cylinder. The seal comprises a first, relatively elastic sealing com-ponent and a second, relatively inelastic sealing component. The first component is connected both to the housing of the master cylinder and to the second sealing component in a manner that creates a leak-proof structure. The second sealing component is arranged in such a way that it also creates a leak-proof structure on the piston rod, on which it also can move.Patent number: WO/2013/029741Inventor: R. Dynamic seal

Applicant: Rausch & Pausch GmbH, Germany

A dynamic seal for radial sealing between two components that can be displaced axially rela-tive to one another is described by this patent. It consists of a sealing body made from an elas-tomeric material. It has two sealing lips that are spaced apart axially and lie radially on the out-side, and two sealing lips that are again spaced apart axially, but lie radially on the inside. It also includes a supporting body (which carries the sealing body) that is composed of a harder material – in particular a plastic – than the sealing body. The supporting body has a radi-ally exposed guide section which extends in the axial direction between two sealing lips for axial guidance of a movable component, and an anchoring section that lies opposite the guide section and is intended to anchor the seal.Patent number: WO/2013/029903Inventors: M. Wheel-bearing seal

Applicant: NTN Corp, JapanThe objective of this invention is to provide a wheel-bearing seal that possesses increased resistance to muddy water and provides improved sealing performance. The patent, describing the design, provides details of a seal (7) in which a side lip (13a) is in slid-ing contact with an upright plate unit (11b)

of a slinger (11) with a predetermined axial-direction interference between them. The seal member (13) is wrapped around and anchored from the outermost surface of the end-part on a fitting (12a) of a core metal (12) to the inner edge of a bore part (12b). An ‘‘eave-like’’ struc-ture (15), for blocking an annular space formed between the seal plate (10) and the slinger (11), is integrally formed on the end-part of the seal member (13). It is formed on a circumferential-direction portion, excluding a lower portion positioned on the road-surface side, and acting as a drain. The inner diameter (d1) of the eave-like part (15) is smaller than the outer diameter (d2) of the upright plate unit (11b) of the slinger (11). The eave-like part is also in light contact with the upright plate unit (11b), or in opposition to it, across a slight gap – creating a labyrinth seal.Patent number: WO/2013/031904Inventors: J. Seal plate for a membrane separation device

Applicant: NanoH2O Inc, USAThis patent describes sealing systems, seal plates and sealing rings that are designed to be used in membrane separation devices. In some cases, the systems relieve pressure differentials between different sections of membrane separa-tion devices, whilst still providing a robust seal between each membrane separation unit and a device housing which holds multiple membrane separation units. In some cases, the membrane separation units can be inserted and removed from a device housing in both the fluid-flow direction and in the opposite direction. These sealing systems may also permit fluid flow in both a normal flow direction and in a reverse direction.Patent number: WO/2013/033616Inventors:Publication date: 7 March 2013

Plate-integrated gasket

Applicant: NOK Corp, JapanThe purpose of this invention is to provide a plate-integrated gasket, configured so that a seal member (3), which is applied to two lami-nated plates (1 & 2), can be mounted within a reduced width and so that the gasket can be manufactured easily and efficiently. In order to realise this design, the outer peripheral surface (1a) of one of the plates (1) is fitted, or loosely fitted, in a stepped surface (21a) formed in the second plate (2). The seal member (3), which consists of a material that has rubber-like elas-ticity, is integrally formed on the first plate (1)
