Oysters

One of the most notorious aphrodisiacs, oysters are high in

zinc and have a reputation for being great for love and fertility.

Casanova, the 18th century lover who used to breakfast on 50

oysters, has been vindicated by a study that proves they really

are aphrodisiacs. The team of American and Italian researchers

analysed oysters - and found they were rich in rare amino

acids that trigger increased levels of sex hormones.

Chilli Peppers

This invigorating spice has an exotic reputation and a bright red

color, which could be why it's considered a symbol of love. They

have a wonderful attribute in their ability to release endorphins,

natural painkillers triggered to put out internal “fire.”

Endorphins also cause the high of extreme physical exertion —

a floating, energized feeling so powerful in its pleasure that it

can cause addiction to spicy cuisine. Very well attributed to how

you feel when you are sexually aroused.

Avocado

It may be the way the avocado tree bears its fruits (ideally dangling

from the tree in pairs like testicles!) or it could be the sensuous pear

shape, or the rich flavor of the fruit that gave avocado its

aphrodisiac reputation. Avocados have high levels of vitamin E that

could help keep the spark alive because of its role in maintaining

"youthful vigor and energy level." We now know that avocado

nutrition delivers a punch of nutrients essential to sexual health,

including beta carotene, magnesium and vitamin E, (which is

sometimes called the “sex vitamin“)

Chocolate

The very thought of indulging into a chocolate give a sensual feeling,

from its taste to its aroma, but dark chocolate has also been shown

to cause a spike in dopamine, which induces feelings of pleasure. It is

suggested that when someone's in love, his or her brain produces a

chemical called phenylethylamine, PEA acts a lot like amphetamines

in the brain, triggering a release of the hormones norepinephrine and

dopamine to create feelings of euphoria.
