Amazing Toubkal Trek:Toubkal and Berber villages Trek
During this trek we will explore the High Atlas mountains, berber villages and ascent mount Toubkal (4167m) North Africa's highest summit from Marrakech. From the summit, panoramic views to the south of Morocco, to the plains of Ouarzazate and the desert... We will as well discover the Berber cultures.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech - Imi Oughlad (1400m) - Tacht pass (2100m) - Tizi Oussem (1750m):
Departure from Marrakech to Asni valley then we go on to the village of Imi Oughlad, where we will take on our mule team. We cross the small village and its terraced gardens to begin a climb to the Tacht pass. From the pass, we descend to to the beautiful red Azzaden valley and stone Berber villages, overnight in gîte in Tizi Oussem Village, 5 hours walking.
Day 2: Tizi Oussem village (1800m) - M'zik pass (2500m) - Armed village(1800m):
After breakfast we go up a forest of juniper to arrive M'zik pass, on the pass we will savor a beautiful panorama of the Imlil area, we descend to lunch spot under the old walnut trees. After lunch we proceed to the village of Armed, Overnight in gîte, 5 hours walking.
Day 3: Armed village(1800m) - Sidi Chamharouch Shrine - Toubkal Refuge (3200m):
After breakfast we start the trek up to Sidi Chamharouch Shrine, which attracts tourists and pilgrims where we will break for lunch, After lunch we continue to Toubkal refuge, Overnight in the refuge or camping, 6 hours walking.
Day 4: Toubkal Refuge(3200m) - Toubkal summit (4167m) - Armed(1800m):
Early departure after breakfast for the ascent of Toubkal, on the upside we will enjoy beautiful vistas of the Atlas mountains, the crests of the Anti-Atlas and its highest peak, the Siroua (3304m) and the Haouez plains. Later we descend Back to the Refuge and to Armad Village, passing by the Sidi Chamharouch shrine, 9 hours walking, overnight in gîte.
Day 5: Armed(1800m) - Tamatart pass (2280m) - Tinerhourhine (1600m):
After breakfast we leave Armed and descend to Imlil then we start walking up along the valley towards Tacheddirt, we climb up to the pass of Tamatert then break for lunch at the pass. After we continue to Ouanesekra and to Tamguist till we arrive at Tinerhourhine, overnight in local gîte, 5 hours walking.
Day 6: Tinerhourhine (1600m) - Tizi Nlbour (1500m) - Imi Oughlad (1400m) - Marrakech:
After breakfast we start walking down the Imnan Valley, passing through several Berber villages, Ikkis Amssakrou and Imsker, at Imsker we climb a small pass Tizi Nlbour to arrive at Imi Oughlad near the road, transport back to Marrakech, overnight in hotel, 6 hours walking.
