1. CHAN, Chi Chun

BIOGRAPHY Chan Chi Chun (Chevy) is currently a final year student in the BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In the 4-year university life, Chevy gained international exposure by attending an academic exchange programme in University of California, Berkeley and a research internship programme in Washington University in St. Louis. Taking up the role as a vice-president in civil and environmental engineering students’ society allowed him to nurture his coordination skill in the allocation of manpower when holding functions as well as team spirit establishment and well establishing him as a good team-player. Chevy actively participated in ICE HKA G&S events by acting as a helper in the model building competition and attending site visits and seminars. PLATFORM STATEMENT ICE HKA G&S has continuously provided many valuable workshops and competitions for students to participate in. It would be great if more voice from current university students can bring into the committee. Being a committee member of ICE HKA G&S as a student will be a benefit for me to serve as a bridge between the Division and students. I will be able to receive opinions voiced out from my fellow schoolmates and integrate them into future activities. I hope this can help students to develop their future career path through the help of the Division.

2. CHAN, Hei Tung Athena

BIOGRAPHY Chan Hei Tung, Athena is currently a year 2 student in The University of Hong Kong, pursuing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. I have been representatives of several construction organizations and student society, including ICE HKA G&S, and Civil Engineering Society, HKU. From those experiences, I have developed effective communication skills and have actively participated in different activities. In addition, throughout my school life, I have learnt the ability to learn new things within a short period of time with different groups of people while developing my engineering skills through various academic projects and site visits, for example, M+ museum and other foreign sites in Canada. Being a committee member allowed me to get in touch with more industrial professionals and could potentially broaden my horizons. I would love to see new technologies and acquire new knowledge related to civil engineering. I want to help plan events and benefit other members. With my engineering coursework, relevant experiences and effective communication technique, I firmly believe that I am a strong candidate for the position of committee member. PLATFORM STATEMENT I am Chan Hei Tung, Athena. I am currently studying Civil Engineering in The University of Hong Kong. I had joined different events of ICE HKA G&S and was the student representative of HKU. Moreover, I was the External Vice-chairperson of Civil Engineering Society in the campus and have built close connection with many external bodies. After participating in several construction organizations and student society, my passion for construction industry has grown. I hope to use my strength and experiences as student to get in touch with students and graduates.

3. CHAN, Yuk Wai Denny

BIOGRAPHY Chan Yuk Wai, Denny is a final year civil engineering student from the University of Hong Kong. He is passionate about pursuing his career as a civil/ geotechnical engineer, and to contribute his knowledge to the future development of Hong Kong.

Denny is an outgoing and challenge-oriented person, he loves to seek additional responsibilities and learn from every challenge he faces. In secondary school, he was a chairman of the class committee for three consecutive years. To further develop his leadership and team-working skills, Denny took up the responsibility of a floor representative and the leader of the band team in a residential hall of HKU. During his service, he had hands-on experience in organising orientation camps, social events and stage performances, and in cooperating with hallmates from different background and races.

Coming to the end of his university study, Denny believes it is time for him to look for greater responsibility to serve civil engineering graduates and students in Hong Kong by becoming a committee member of the ICE-HKA-Graduate and Students Division. He is confident in being a competent candidate and he is looking forward to contributing his capabilities to ICEHK in the coming year. PLATFORM STATEMENT I am honoured to be nominated for this position. During my university study, I took up various responsibilities to polish my leadership and team-working skills. I am confident in becoming one of the committee members of ICE-HKA-G&S. I am particularly interested in organising site visits and seminars. I believe “civil engineering starts from practice, not theory” – stepping into the actual site and listening to the sharing by practical engineers would be the best way for civil engineers to learn. I would also love to organise more geotechnical-related events owing to the importance of the subject and my personal expertise.

4. CHEUNG, Ka Ming David

BIOGRAPHY David is a recent graduate from Imperial College London with a determination to get more involved within the HK G&S ICE committee and the civil engineering community. Throughout his studies, David played an active role within ‘The Red Project’: a student led charity with a focus on improving education standards in rural Borneo. His responsibilities included fundraising and liaising with external companies for sponsorship. By volunteering for a cause so close to his heart, David has seen the impact this have on improving lives of others and hopes to fully utilize his expertise as a civil engineer to help many more in the community. Currently, he is working within the transportation department at AECOM. He’s involved in the AECOM employee engagement committee to organise various social events in his department. Furthermore, he participated in various ICE HKA G&S events, including the Brunel international lecture series and a site visit. PLATFORM STATEMENT I believe that civil engineers are able to meaningfully impose positive changes to the mass unlike many other professionals and are pivotal in tackling the greatest challenge that threaten this, and future generations. As a committee of the HK ICE G&S, I would work closely with fellow members and organise meaningful events for our young professionals. I aspire to become part of the committee and make a difference in the society by bringing together the next generation and engineering leaders towards an exciting future for the industry.

5. HO, Wing Ying

BIOGRAPHY Wendy graduated from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering in 2016. Currently, she joined AECOM as a civil engineering graduate in transportation business line.

She has been actively involved in promotion of engineering. In HKUST, she was the subcommittee of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Students’ Society to organise events for the welfare of civil engineering students. She also joined the Woman Ambassador Programme, which was a 6-month intensive programme aiming to equip female engineers with technical and non-technical trainings to promote Woman in Science and Engineering (WISE) to secondary school female students.

After graduation, she joined the AECOM employee engagement committee to organise site visits, seminars and leisure activities in her business line. She was also the young member committee of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Hong Kong to assist the promotion of advancement of young consulting engineers. Besides, she actively engaged in ICE HKA G&S events through being helper in various events, including One-Day Seminar and Shape Our Future City. She believes every young professional could gain advancement from the experience and knowledge shared by the senior professionals. PLATFORM STATEMENT Being a participant as well as a helper of ICE HKA G&S for two years, I considered ICE HKA G&S as a platform for passionate young professionals and students to gain inspiration, exchange knowledge and share experience through seminars with hot topics, technical visits, overseas delegation and outreach. I would like to put one step forward and take the opportunity to serve the G&S division and promote to the public the professionalism of civil engineer with my enthusiasm and experience.

6. HO, Yan Chun Michael

BIOGRAPHY I am a year 2 student, currently studying civil engineering in the University of Hong Kong. My interest and passion have brought me to discover more and more about the civil engineering industry, eager to dig dipper into more knowledge within this field. After successfully getting into HKU engineering, my aim has always been developing into civil engineering. I went to a diversity of visits, including site and technical visit. I joined HKU’s civil engineering society as an executive committee member, serving students studying in civil engineering, providing different service to members. I have organized different activities and events, including career talks, site visits and annual dinner, assisting students both academically and non-academically. Furthermore, I have joined the Chartered Institution of Highway and Transportation (Hong Kong Branch) as a student representative, helping with connections with students and some events. After year 1, I successfully got into the civil engineering department to study civil engineering, progressing my way through my dream path to be a successful civil engineer. PLATFORM STATEMENT I believe that as a student, only attending to lectures are not enough for acquiring appropriate knowledge for our preparation to be a successful engineer in the future, I also prefer going outward for different kinds of opportunities. In the past year, I have already established connections between civil engineering students and different organizations, assisting them with ways to acquire the most updated technology and knowledge among our field. Through ICE HKA G&S, I would like to take up roles in even further promoting civil engineering, raising the profile of civil engineers to a higher level.

7. HUI, Wai Ying Jennifer

BIOGRAPHY

HUI Wai Ying Jennifer is a civil engineering undergraduate at The University of Hong Kong, graduating in mid-2019. Devotion in civil engineering activities and voluntary services throughout the past years have sparked infinite passion in Jennifer to dedicate more contribution to the industry in the years ahead. She has been actively involved in ICE HKA’s and G&S’s activities, ranging from campaigns for promoting civil engineering amongst secondary school students - Shaping Our Future City, to the industry’s fund-raising activity for ICE Caring Engineering projects - 10,000 Steps Challenge. Being the Master of Ceremony on multiple occasions, for instance, the Certificate Presentation Ceremony 2019 of ICE HKA, Jennifer has demonstrated the ability to face crowds of professionals. In university, Jennifer joined Project Mingde, with a vision to improve the living and learning environment of the underprivileged in Guangxi. She took up the roles to present the project to potential donors and assisted a book publication of Mingde. Apart from local activities, Jennifer also has overseas exposure. The exchange to the University of Canterbury in New Zealand has brought unique insights to her through engaging in the planning of a water infrastructure project in developing communities, tasting their highly-valued profession – civil engineering. PLATFORM STATEMENT Civil engineers make houses rise from grounds, technologies span across borders where most people only ever talk about travelling to. We, together, can turn post-it notes into world-changing plans; and with every footprint builds a better place. The young generation is the driver of our future; let us embrace the strength that nurtures the engineers of futures, with ICE HKA G&S, we are making great steps forwards. There is no hesitation in dedicating myself into the mission: connecting people to opportunities; making relationships with unfamiliar faces; fearing not the challenges ahead of us.

8. HUO, Yuet Hei Anson

BIOGRAPHY Anson graduated from City University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Structural Engineering in 2018. He is currently a Graduate Engineer with the bridge team at Meinhardt infrastructure and Environment Limited. Long has Anson been keen in promoting and serving the civil engineering industry. During his undergraduate studies, he has served as a committee member of the HKIE Student Chapter to organise career talks and promotion events for the interest of engineering students. In the meanwhile, he also actively participated in various ICE HKA G&S events, including technical visits, mentoring programme and CV workshop. Last year, Anson has participated in the ICE HKA G&S Emerging Engineers Award 2018 to express his ideas and findings in structural rehabilitation with satisfactory performance awarded. Furthermore, he joined ICE HKA G&S in the past year as a helper to organise technical visits and seminars for young engineers and students. This year, he would like to make use of his past experience and continue his service in ICE HKA G&S as a committee member to promote civil engineering. PLATFORM STATEMENT ICE HKA G&S is a vibrant community with a group of professional and enthusiastic engineers. It is an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, civil engineering promotion and social networking. In the coming year, I hope to extend my service in G&S and further the steps of our former committee members in promoting civil engineering and bridging our young members. I am eager to continue to serve the site visit and seminar team and organise more new and interesting events.

9. LAI, Man Ying Winnie

BIOGRAPHY Winnie graduated from Imperial College London in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Winnie joined AECOM Asia Company Limited as Graduate Engineer and currently as Assistant Resident Engineer. In the UK, she volunteered as a STEM ambassador where various events are organised to allow primary and secondary students to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). As a participant, Winnie competed in the ICE HKA G&S Communications Competition 2017 and ICE 200 Emerging Engineers Award. Both competitions have been exceptional experiences in transforming textbook knowledge into real-life scenario application. In the ICE HKA G&S committee, Winnie has been the Publicity and Communications Officer for Sessions 2017-18 and 2018-19. She also has been a team member for Student Development Team and External Engagement Team respectively. This year, she is in the organising committee for the campaign Shaping Our Future City 2019 where secondary school students discover the role of civil engineers through site visits, workshops and exhibition. PLATFORM STATEMENT In order to become a well-rounded civil engineer, it is important to be enriched with personal insight and enhanced through continual experiences. Supports from professional institutions, universities and industries in the form of activities such as seminars, visits, and networking events are therefore vital to the development of an engineer. Having contributed to ICE HKA G&S for the past two sessions, I would like to continue to take up the responsibility where I could further inspire younger generation to our field and enhance the profile of civil engineer as a profession.

10. LAI, Siu Man Mandy

BIOGRAPHY Lai Siu Man, Mandy graduated with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 2012. After the graduation, Mandy joined a contractor company as an Assistant Engineer in the project of Nam Cheong Property Foundation removal and removing of existing bored piles. She was responsible for monitoring the progress of the removal of 5 nos. 2.8m diameter bored piles’ resting on rock, with lengths varying from 65m to 100m in Nam Cheong. She also communicated with sub-contractors and engineer representatives to tackle the construction problems technically and practically. Currently, Mandy is working as a Graduate Engineer in AECOM and involving in project management role. She assists in preparing the cost estimate and tender documents for the work, liaison with clients to ensure the requirements to be incorporated in the contract and preparation of materials for public consultation. Mandy is active in participating and organizing activities within the AECOM Employee Engagement Committee. She has previously held position as the Chairlady of Company Fun Day and Department Spring Dinner. PLATFORM STATEMENT In 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 sessions, I am the committee member in ICE HKA G&S as Personal Development Team Leader and Honorary Treasurer. As Person in Charge or Organizing Committee in various events, I have gained the knowledge from exchanging the experiences and ideas with other engineers. I believe that it is essential and strengthens the connection between engineers in Hong Kong. With my past experience as a committee member of ICE HKA G&S, I am confident in taking up the role and have definitely prepared myself for the responsibilities in the next session.

11. LAU, Pak Kwan Felix

BIOGRAPHY Lau Pak Kwan, Felix, is a final year student from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, majoring in civil and environmental engineering. Being a graduating student, he is eager to apply his knowledge into practice, as well as to contribute his efforts to the professional sector and the community.

During his undergraduate study, Felix was the executive committee member of The Engineering Students’ Union, with holding various activities for students to develop and pursue their careers. Having experiences in organizing mentorship program and orientation camp, he has established outstanding communication skills, and undertaken leadership roles. Besides, his successful promotional strategies have led to a 5% increase of new members than in the previous session, developed a positive and energetic image of engineering study.

Felix also has broad exposure in the industry by went on exchange at The University of Sheffield, taking part in the summer internship program of Chun Wo Building Construction Ltd. He enjoys meeting people from different sectors and view civil engineering from multiple perspectives. He would like to make use of his experience to serve graduates and students, broadening the international horizons for the members of G&S. PLATFORM STATEMENT ICE HKA G&S is a platform connecting young engineers to the industry, unleashing their untapped potentials. Therefore, I am eager to enhance the participation of students, bringing them out from classrooms and get prepared to become professionals. Apart from continuing the successful seminars and competitions in the previous session, I would like to organize mentorship program to inspire our members with practical experiences, setting a role model for the young generation. I will do my utmost effort to voice out the opinions of our members, supporting their growth and development.

12. LEE, Ching Yan Ellen

BIOGRAPHY Ellen graduated from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and the Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business Management in 2017. She is currently a geotechnical engineering graduate of the Hong Kong Government.

Ellen has been actively working on promotion of engineering since her university study. She delivered speeches on engineering education in local JUPAS talks and the university’s information days and was awarded as Head Engineering Student Ambassador. After graduation, Ellen started her connection with ICE. She became one of the facilitators of ICE 200 Shaping Our Future City campaign to guide secondary school students to understand the key element of civil engineering.

In the last ICE HKA G&S session 2018-19, she further engaged and served as a co-opted member. She is now the chairman of the ICE Shaping Our Future City campaign organising committee. Furthermore, in that one year of service, she worked as an organising committee of One Day Seminar and assisted other G&S signature events, including Communications Competition, and Mock CPR presentation workshops etc.

In the future, Ellen would like to take up positions in the ICE HKA G&S committee to make extended contribution. PLATFORM STATEMENT I am enthusiastic about contributing my time and effort in civil engineering industry and the society I belong to. In the coming session, I will constantly endeavor to contribute to ICE HKA G&S. I believe ICE HKA G&S is a platform for young member to exchange knowledge and acquire important skills in their engineering professional career. I surely will be serving the ICE HKA G&S with diligence and dedication in organizing meaningful events to foster both professional and personal development of young members. With my experience and passion in organizing activities, I am confident to take up more responsibilities ahead.

13. LEUNG, Hoi Kit

BIOGRAPHY Leung Hoi Kit, Kelvin graduated with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong in 2018. After graduation, he engaged himself in a consultancy company as a graduate engineer, mainly working on the bridge construction projects in Hong Kong.

Kelvin has been organising activities since his school time. He devoted himself in student associations as committee members. He was the Academic Secretary of Civil Engineering Society of his school in session 2016-2017 and the student helper of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Hong Kong Branch, holding various activities such as site visits, technical seminars, field trips and interest classes. With his contribution to the association in organising academic activities, he was also awarded scholarship by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Hong Kong Branch in 2017.

As the organizing committee member of the activities, he aims to promote the vision of civil engineering to students and create a platform for students to broaden the horizons and maintain work life balance. After graduation, Kelvin continues his passion in encouraging youngers to join in the civil engineering field, to pass on the spirits of civil engineers. PLATFORM STATEMENT My fate with ICE started with a chance to be the facilitator of ‘SOFC 2019’. After joining that, I understand the more important mission is to promote civil engineering to others and help the society to construct a better community.

Hence, I build my passion to serve the community by organising activities of various kinds. If I could serve in ICE HKA G&S, I would try my best to condense all of us working in the field and promote the delights of civil engineering to others, especially to students, encouraging them to continue engaging in this field after graduation.

14. LI, Ho Wai Ethan

BIOGRAPHY Li Ho Wai, Ethan graduated with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong in 2018. He was employed as a Graduate Engineer in a Building Contractor and a local Consultant afterwards.

Back to the days in campus, Ethan took up the role as an External Vice President in the Civil Engineering Society. He organized students activities and communicated with students and engineers, which nurtured his coordination skill and broadened his network. Meanwhile, Ethan also engaged in a domestic society subjected to the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Hong Kong Branch as a committee. As such Ethan built up adequate experience of organizing various type of activities for members. He also endorsed teamwork-oriented concept to every activities.

After graduation, Ethan has maintained his passion in diverse engineering activities such as fellows’ gatherings and technical seminars, especially the campaign “Shaping Our Future City 2019” (SOFC) and ‘Future Engineers Project 2019’ (FEP). Not only could him exchange thoughts with young engineers, but he could also promote engineering concepts to the students.

Currently, Ethan takes part in geotechnical team such that he mainly involves in technical design of slope, ELS and site formation projects, while the... (The submitted biography exceeds the word limit) PLATFORM STATEMENT Civil Engineering deserves more public understandings than it does nowadays, while G&S provides a platform to inspire ambitions and cognitions of civil engineering among the young generation. Hence, joining SOFC made me realize that freshmen might not have fundamental understandings and incentives to this field at the starting point generally, as such I always manage to motivate their incentives and share fundamental civil engineering concepts with them during these events. I hope that freshmen would become mindset-prepared and self-motivated to civil engineering before they come into an effective interaction with professional engineers. 15. LO, Tien Yue Jason

BIOGRAPHY Jason Lo graduated with a Master of Engineering degree at University of Oxford in 2018. He now works as a graduate engineer under an infrastructure team at ARUP. In university, Jason was a committee member of the Hong Kong Society which aims to create bonding among Hong Kong students within the university internally and building connections with other universities externally through organizing various kinds of activities. These equipped him with the event organizing experience. Besides, Jason has been keen to promote civil engineering to the younger generations. He was a mentor at the Future Engineer Project, a campaign which was jointly organized by various engineering institutes and aimed to share the experiences of different engineering disciplines to secondary students. He has also volunteered to help underprivileged students by sharing his first-hand academic and industrial civil engineering experiences. Currently, Jason actively participates in ICE HKA G&S events including being the facilitator of Shaping Our Future City 2019 and the organizing committee of the Emerging Engineer Award 2018 as well as joining a number of seminars and site visits. Through these involvements in the G&S, they offer the opportunities to connect and exchange our knowledge with other young engineers with different backgrounds. PLATFORM STATEMENT Civil engineering is very important to our everyday lives as well as enhancing our quality of life and shaping our better future, however it is always underrated in Hong Kong. ICE HKA G&S provides a channel to promote civil engineering and organize meaningful events for youngsters to raise their awareness, inspire them and hence unleash their potentials. There is no better way than serving G&S as a committee to partner with other enthusiastic young engineers to achieve this goal. 16. NGAI, Oi Tung Stephanie

BIOGRAPHY Stephanie is currently a year 3 student pursuing a Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. She was the External Vice President of the Building and Construction Society of CityUSU, Session 2017-2018. She and her team organised activities and talks to promote ICE HKA G&S to Civil Engineering students. She was also the Student Representative of CityU in ICE HKA G&S in Session 2017-2018. Stephanie was passionate to explore in the world of Civil Engineering. She was one of the delegates in the Brunei Delegation, awarded with the Student Prize in 2017.

Stephanie actively participated in ICE HKA G&S activities. She joined ICE HKA G&S session 2018-2019 as Co-opted member to contribute more for students. Currently, she took part in organising Engineers X Engineers – a mentoring programme for students to understand more about this profession and build a relationship with young graduates. PLATFORM STATEMENT Civil Engineering is crucial to in shaping and transforming lives in the world. In the past two years, ICE HKA G&S provides me with a lot of valuable opportunities to explore and expose to this industry. I am eager to join the coming session as a committee member to promote civil engineering to students. Having spent a summer working in site, I understand that learning through textbooks and lectures is never enough. I hope I could help promote more knowledge of this industry to students by organising campaign and programmes for students in the coming year.

17. TO, Kei Kit

BIOGRAPHY TO Kei Kit, Andy graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2017. After graduation, he was employed by Meinhardt (C&S) at first and went to Chun Wo afterwards. While working in Meinhardt, Andy mainly worked for the ArchSD project, Kai Tak Avenue. In this project, he has participated in the preparation of technical submission. In addition, he was also responsible for coordinating with architects, engineers in ArchSD and other building service engineers. While working in Chun Wo, Andy was mainly responsible for construction planning, programing and the temporary work design coordination for a segmental bridge construction. He also assisted quantity surveyors to prepare tender documents for subletting works and participated in the cost break down analysis to lower project cost. Moreover, he also actively participated in Chun Wo Young Profession Group activities such as NEC training workshop and CASTCO lab visit. Andy is also an ICE 2018-2019 G&S helper that has actively participated in various activities and organized joint society activities. He had helped organize the CITAC visit and wine & cheese pairing workshop, which two events were successfully held. PLATFORM STATEMENT By joining ICE HKA G&S as a helper in 2018, I had met many young civil engineers with different backgrounds through participating and organizing activities. Moreover, ICE had also provided me with great support in terms of technical seminar, personal development, career planning etc. It also gave me the chance to learn the construction development and to realize the importance of civil engineers in society. In the coming year, I would like to take up roles to further promote ICE HKA G&S to benefit more young civil engineers.

18. WONG, Ki Chun

BIOGRAPHY Wong Ki Chun, Joe graduated from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with BEng in Civil Engineering in 2017. After graduation, he joined AECOM as a Graduate Engineer in transportation business line. Joe has over two-year working experiences on project management, design, and construction for civil and highway infrastructure projects within a highly urbanized area. He has successfully combined his technical background with the management of demanding infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. Recently, he has been involved in contract packaging and tender process for the Cross Bay Link and Fanling Bypass Eastern Section projects. Joe has been actively working on promotion of civil engineering since his university study. Taking up the role as executive committee in The American Society of Civil Engineers International Student Group in HKUST nurtured his coordination and interpersonal skill when organizing various functions, such as a three-day civil engineering experience camp for 80 secondary students and mentorship program. Being involved in the AECOM employee engagement committee to hold site visits and relaxing activates in AECOM. Furthermore, he actively engages in ICE HKA G&S events through being helper in different events, including seminars and the ICE HKA G&S Japan Delegation 2019. PLATFORM STATEMENT In the past year, Civil engineering’s image seems damaged by some news of current civil infrastructure projects. I realise my enthusiasm would aid me in promoting ICE and upholding the professional and positive image of Civil Engineering profession. Importantly, ICE HKA G&S is a platform for me to achieve this common goal. I am grateful to serve ICE HKA G&S delegation team in the past year. If elected to be a Committee Member in the ICE HKA G&S, I will ambitiously serve all members of ICE HKA G&S and devote myself to further enhancement of ICE HKA G&S.

19. YIM, Sheung Shing

BIOGRAPHY Yim Sheung Ching, Justin is currently an undergraduate in the Department of Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong. Still being a student, his ambition has stimulated his idea to contribute in civil industry at an early stage. Justin is eager to know more about civil industry, he joined lots of activities like career talks and site-visits held by ICE and different student associations.

As an active learner and good team worker, Justin was nominated to the first class University in China i.e. Peking University College of Engineering summer exchange program last summer. Apart from learning technical engineering management skills, he had a golden chance to work with civil engineering students that come from different universities. PLATFORM STATEMENT Participated in the activities held by ICE HKA last year, I had gained more experience in the civil field. I was fascinated by the activities, I want a step further ahead to be the committee member to expand my social network and co-operate with some graduates and students who come from various universities. If I become a committee member of ICE HKA G&S, I would promote more ICE activities to my fellow schoolmates so that I can bridge the connection between students and the civil field.

20. YIP, Chun San

BIOGRAPHY Yip Chun San Jason graduated in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 2017. He is working as Graduate Engineer in Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Company Limited. He is involved in construction planning and site progress monitoring in A&A project at Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital. He is also responsible for the coordination with architects, engineers and sub-contractors.

Jason was actively taking part in promoting civil engineering sine his university life. He was the President of The Civil and Environmental Engineering Student’s Society, HKUSTSU, Session 2015-2016 and organised a wide range of functions and promote professional manner to civil engineering student in HKUST. In the same year, he joined ICE HKA G&S as student representative and expressed opinions for civil student in HKUST. After graduation, he served as co-opted member in session 2018-2019 under External Engagement Term and helped maintaining relationship with other young professional groups in different disciplines. He took part in organising joint society events such as christmas party and one day seminar. PLATFORM STATEMENT Joining ICE HKA G&S in the past few years, I had a wonderful opportunity in connecting myself to the civil engineering industry. In the coming year, I wish I can contribute myself to serve members in the division. 21. ZHAN, Wenting

BIOGRAPHY Wenting, Zhan is currently a final year PhD student in Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. She received the MSc in Engineering with Management from King’s College London in 2014. Her continue contributions on civil project productivity research was recognised by publishing two journal papers and five international conference papers. Recently, her outstanding research with team was recognised with Literati Awards for Excellence – Best BEPAM Journal Paper in 2018. She believes that research cannot be separated from industry insights. With this passion, she engaged in several consultancy projects during her PhD study and served as master of ceremonies for international consultation forums. During her university life, she was the Vice-President of The Civil Engineering Students’ Union, SWJU, Session 2012-2013. Taking up this role, she organised various seminars, conferences and workshops to be the voice of the institute. Those experiences equipped her event organising skills and leadership skills. PLATFORM STATEMENT ICE HKA G&S is not only an important platform for networking, but also provides opportunities for personal and professional development. Being a Committee Member of ICE HKA G&S enable me to serve as a bridge between the Division and students as well as a bridge between industry experts and academic researchers. I would make very endeavour to promote civil engineering to the younger generations, develop partnership with the universities and professional institutions and organise meaningful activities for our members.
