FRESH WATERCOOLING SYSTEM
????
????
Designed to work with maximum efficiency and run
for long running hours
Loss of energy from machineries in form of Heat
Energy
Heat has to be reduced to avoid malfunctioning
TYPES OF COOLING SYSTEM
1: SEA WATER COOLING SYSTEM
2: FRESH WATER COOLING SYSTEM
VS
Most marine engines was designed to have clean
non-corrosive antifreeze coolant circulating between the engine and a heat exchanger.
Raw (sea) water instead of air passes through the heat exchanger and absorbs the heat from the engine.
FRESH WATER COOLING SYSTEM
compressor
evaporator
condenser
90°c 25°c
30°c
25°c
-16°c
-15°c
-10°c
Used in a closed circuit to cool down the engine room machineries.
The fresh water returning from the heat exchanger after cooling the machineries is further cooled by sea water in a sea water cooler.
FRESH WATER COOLING SYSTEM
BENEFITSLONGER ENGINE LIFE
DUE TO:
No corrosion
No Scale
BENEFITS
PROPER ENGINE TEMPERATURE
- IMPROVED FUEL ECONOMY- LESS ENGINE WEAR- NO CRANKCASE CONDENSATION- NO OIL DILUTION- NO SLUDGE
CONCLUSION
LOW MAINTENANCE COSTLESS CORROSIONHIGHER SPEED OF FLUID HENCE
BETTER HEAT EXCHANGEUSE OF CHEAPER MATERIALSCONSTANT TEMPERATURE LEVEL
