Bruce McKinzie has been teaching in Shelby County for the last 16 years. He started in middle school, then transferred to elementary for the past 13 years, where he feels he has found his niche. He loves to travel, and most recently, had a wonderful time in Norway this summer on a cruise with his wife. He spent his own high school years in Greece, Egypt, and Switzerland, where he graduated. He has been to 49 states, 20 countries, 3 territories, and 2 provinces. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy, and met and married his wife. They have 2 sons, both married, and 4 grandchildren.
