Short Description:At the touch of a finger, you can access nearly everyone you know. Did you know that includes your ancestors? In this class, you will learn how to use the FamilySearch mobile apps to experience family history in a new way. Find out how to easily complete simple family history tasks while waiting for an oil change or for dinner to cook. Learn about all the new features available now and coming soon as well as how to teach the younger generations.

What You Will Learn in the ClassAt the end of this course, you will:

1. Use photos and stories to find and create new memories by:

a. Discovering existing memories.

b. Capturing and uploading photos, stories, and audio.

2. Use a task list to do short and simple research activities by:

a. Finding record hints and reviewing them to attach to ancestors.

b. Using the updated hint review (source linker) feature.

3. Use new the mobile app discovery features by:

a. Searching with the new Ancestor Find feature.

b. Mapping events of your ancestors.

c. Using multiple tabs to enhance research.

What Kind of User Should Use These Applications?Everyone, including new users and current users of FamilySearch.org.

What to Do at HomeBefore you come to the class, you may want to download the Family Tree mobile app. Use FamilySearch as the keyword to search in your favorite app store. NOTE: Windows devices are NOT supported.
