The visuals consist of one quarterly theme poster, three unit posters that are simple, colorful reminders of the theme of each unit, thirteen lesson posters and twenty-six photomasters that may be used as overhead transparencies or copied and handed out to the students. The quarterly theme poster should be put up at the beginning of the quarter and left up throughout the quarter. The three unit posters will be placed under the theme poster. Unit posters are to be posted at the beginning of a unit and remain up throughout the quarter with the weekly lesson posters that belong to each unit posted under them. UNIT POSTERS Before beginning a unit of study, place unit posters in a prominent place on the classroom wall under the quarterly theme poster. Allow enough room for the lesson posters that relate to each unit to be placed under the appropriate unit poster. UNIT 1 The four lessons in Unit 1, “God the Son came into the world in the flesh of a man that He might redeem man from sin,” focus on the necessity of the incarnation of Christ in relation to man’s redemption. UNIT 2 The five lessons in Unit 2, “The Son of God became our example of godly behavior in our relationships with God and our fellowman,” focus on the principles which should determine the basis of a Christian’s relationships with God and other people. UNIT 3 The four lessons in Unit 3, “Jesus Christ, the God-man, died to reconcile sinful man to the holy God,” focus on how Jesus lived as a man so that He could die on the cross to bring sinful man into the presence of God. LESSON POSTERS AND VISUALS Lesson posters should be positioned under the appropriate unit poster each week. LESSON 1 Lesson 1 Poster lists some of the characteristics of “The Invisible God.” God is invisible—Spirit—but also has intelli- gence and mass in the person of Jesus Christ. Make copies of Photomaster 1-1 and use during Define section. Students will write the definitions then write sentences using each word. Students will also write about their understanding of the incarnation of Jesus. Make copies of Photomaster 1-2. Students will match the words on the left to the words on the right and write that letter in the blank on the left. LESSON 2 Lesson 2 Poster will show how “The Invisible God Became a Visible Man” in the person of Jesus Christ who was flesh and blood—a physical man. Make copies of Photomaster 2-1. Students will write why it was necessary that Jesus come to earth as a visible person. Make copies of Photomaster 2-2. Students will answer the questions. LESSON 3 Lesson 3 Poster, “Humanly Speaking, It’s Impossible!” will remind students that nothing is impossible with God. Make copies of Photomasters 3-1 and 3-2 or use as transparencies with an overhead projector. Photomaster 3-1 gives Old Testament prophecies and New Testament fulfillment of Christ’s birth. Students will answer the questions. Photomaster 3-2 instructions are given under Define section of teacher’s book, page 20.

It’s Covered

A famous mayor of a large city used to be a judge at a police court. One day a trem-bling old man was brought before him, charged with steal ing a loaf of bread. The old man said he had to do it because his family was starving.

“Well, I’ve got to punish you,” said the judge. “The law makes no exceptions, and I can do nothing but sentence you to a fine of ten dollars.” Then he added, after reaching into his pocket, “And here’s the ten dollars to pay your fine. Furthermore,” he said as he threw a couple of more dollars into his hat, “I am going to fine everyone in this courtroom fifty cents for living in a town where a man has to steal bread to eat.” The judge passed the hat around, and the old man, with the light of Heaven in his eyes, left the courtroom with $47.50.

How is this illustration similar to what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary?

Do You Want the Truthor the Made-up Story?

It has been said of Thomas Jefferson that he compiled his own version of a Bible. A special edition of it was even issued by Congress. It was basically a copy of the Bible. He went through its pages and cut out the parts he did not want, which included all references of the super-natural, including the resurrection. He only kept the parts that were the moral teachings of Jesus. The final words in the Jefferson Bible: “There they laid Jesus, and rolled a great stone to the mouth of the sepulchre and departed.” Thank God that His

Word does not end at that. Do you want to follow the truth or a made-up story?

Why is God’s promise of the resurrection important for you?

Why is it important for your family and friends?

Tell them about it today!

It Made the Difference

There have been many advo-cates of the freedom and liberties you are privileged to have and enjoy in this country. One case involved two Baptist preachers who were beaten, arrested and jailed for preaching the gospel (yes, in this country). A man named Patrick Henry heard of the plight of the two preachers. He wanted to do some-thing about this injustice, so he rode fifty miles to defend the preachers

against their accusers. He defended the preachers in court. He spoke bril-liantly on their behalf. When he finished, all charges were dropped.

What difference did it make that Patrick Henry spoke on behalf of the Baptist preachers to the court?

What difference does it make when Jesus intercedes on your behalf in Heaven?
