     Yogacarya T Krishnamacharya classies the practice part of Yoga into three segments based on the proportion between

    asana, präëäyäma and dhyäna.

     The classication is based on the ashrama concept of vedicperiod. The ashramas! are brahmacharya studentship!,grahasta married life!, vanaprastha retired! and sanyasa

     The proportion is on the time ta*en for practice. Suppose onehas + minutes of time available for practice, the S"#$i*arma, involves & minutes on asana practice, ( minutes onpräëäyäma practice and ) minutes on dhyäna practice.

     Yoga for youth comes under the -s"#$i *rama.

    -s"#$i *rama as the very word suggests is focus on thecreation! growth, as the youth is time of growth.

     Youth is also the time to guide the growth of body and mind

    for proper use. $

     The proper description of the posture with how thevarious parts of the body are *ept is taught.

    /hile teaching the practice, the proper way is reaching orachieving the posture is taught. This is called -vinyasa.

    -vinyasa means -to specially, properly place.

    -vinyasa is to devise the step3by3step movement ofreaching the posture.

     The reason is to appreciate the -dharma of the body and

    to avoid in4uries and harm to the body himsa!.&

    :oncept of ;inyasa *rama

     The starting point of a -vinyasa is normaland natural position of the body which isproperly balanced. This is called

    -samasthiti.

    ;ery often, particularly in the ancient time, itwas always a standing position.

     There can be seated and lying positions also.

     There can be more than one or two steps fora posture.

     The second important aspect is use of breath. The se5uence of

    postures is done with proper breathing. 6nhale?@old?=8hale?@old!

    :ertain rules such as e8hale on bending forward?twisting etc areto be followed.

     To ma*e the practice more -mindful the breathing starts rst and

    the movement follows and the movement ends and breathingends.

    Aovement helps in better stretch and hence wor*s on the 4ointsand ma*es them supple, while hold of the posture will help instrengthening.

    6t is ideal for the practitioner to have a reasonable

    amount of alignment of the body, as se5uence practiceloc.s the body.

    6f the se5uence of postures is practised, strictly accordingto the rules with an improperly aligned body, it wouldharm the body

    6f the alignment is not proper, the student can be put topractice certain postures with modications and bringthe alignment and then ma*e them practice the vinyasa.

     To sum up, se5uential practice ofpostures, called -vinyasa will help youthto achieve suppleness and strength ofthe body.

      6ntroduction of breath, mantra andbhävana will help in bringing calmnessat the level of the Aind.
