Pitahaya (Origin): The cultivation of dragon fruit, develops an endemic variety typical

of the Amazon of Ecuador, obtaining the first seeds in Palora city in 1989. For its

unique characteristics in physical appearance, chemical and organic properties, it is

known worldwide as "dragon fruit" or "Pithaya".

Life Time: From 10 to 30 days depending

on the degree of ripeness with which it

was harvested.

Taste: Fino as very exotic delicate, sweet

and refreshing.

Uses: It can be consumed mainly as fresh

fruit, additional dried fruit as snack and

fresh or frozen pulp.
