Building understanding: Rationale / breakdown for your sequence of lessons: Levers and joint classifications both rely on pupils having prior knowledge of muscles and bones. Teachers have the scope to revisit component 1, topic 1 to make sure pupils can recall the names of the muscles and bones involved in movement.

Building understanding: Rationale / breakdown for your sequence of lessons: A lot of the content in this topic will be brand new to the pupils having never cover the topic in KS3 or 4. The lessons are in sequence and can be developed so that pupils can learn practically as well as in the classroom. Long and term effects of exercise require all of component 1 to be delivered before. Teachers will revisit these topics in this term to make sure pupils are recalling past information

Building understanding: Rationale / breakdown for your sequence of lessons: The content in this topic is taught alongside the Personal Exercise Programme and the information required in each is the same. Pupils will be taught the theory which they should be able to recall from their KS3 Health related fitness lessons.
