of the successful implementation of varied and diverse schemes around the world from North America, Europe

and the Far East.

Our professional standards and approach to design and manufacture is also refl ected in a total Training

and Health and Safety philosophy operated within the organisation. We appreciate the high standards and

accreditations required to partner major blue chip companies. Our own separate Training and Health and Safety

divisions bear testament to our total commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and those of our client.

The modern world demands cutting edge technologies and forward thinking philosophies. At Wrights we can

implement those technologies with creative design solutions and procedures whilst at the same time staying true

Design

Wright Engineering have the in house design resources to develop a clients ideas and requirements into a detailed

design solution.

Our experienced design engineers can perform detailed site surveys enabling them to produced detailed layouts of

existing equipment and buildings, thus providing a sound foundation for modifi cations or new project designs to be

accommodated.

Our Design Offi ce operates both 2 Dimensional AutoCad and 3 Dimensional Inventer software packages. This

enables us to fully illustrate our proposed solutions to both the technical and non technical client representatives.

We have found by experience that getting our customers to fully understand the solutions being proposed leads to

a more focussed fi nal solution. Our engineers make sure that the initial layout drawings fully illustrate the solutions

enabling customer feedback and detailed requirements to be incorporated at an early stage of the project.

Wright Engineering design engineers are fully conversant with the requirements of the Construction (Design and

Management) Regulations. The requirements on the designers that these regulations have enacted with regard to

the installation of the equipment and the subsequent safe operation and maintenance of the installed plant are fully

understood. We undertake all Design Risk Assessments and the provision of these to the CDM Coordinator, and all

the other design paper work is organised as a matter of course.

We have the manpower and facilities to detail all our designs so that manufacturing and procurement can be

undertaken. Wright Engineering has a policy of management control during all phases of a project. Our design

engineers provide an unbroken link between the client and the manufacture of the equipment, ensuring that the

required high quality is maintained.

Fabrication

Wright Engineering has been providing high quality fabrications to discerning clients for over 25 years.

Our purpose built fabrication workshop, equipped with overhead gantry crane, is fi tted out with all the

machines (break presses, guillotines, rolls, etc.) to enable our craftsmen to fabricate the majority of our clients needs

in house.

We employ time served boilermakers, platers and welders who have received all the additional training and

certifi cation to allow them to produce the complex chute and plate work to the exacting standards that our

customers rightly demand. The requirements for coding of welders for specifi c fabrication work, specifi c weld

inspection and the carrying out of non-destructive testing to meet design requirements, is routinely carried out by

our experienced staff.

Our facilities at Worksop include dedicated shot blasting and painting shops. Experienced personnel are employed

to fi nish and package fabrications to whatever client specifi cations require. The Wright Engineering factory site is also

close to a number of the countries leading galvanising fi rms, allowing us to offer a quick and effi cient turnaround in

hot dipped galvanised fabrications.

The fabrication workshops operate fully within the BS9001 structure that we have developed to ensure that

the traceability, quality checks, dimensional accuracy and fi nish are controlled and monitored throughout the

manufacturing process. This enables Wright Engineering to supply fabrications that are correct to the client’s

requirements fi rst time, on time.

Installation Services

Wright Engineering employ dedicated teams of site installation staff. We feel that only by employing our own

installation staff, and site supervision, are we able to control the quality of the project installation.

With the advent of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, a formal approach to site installations

and management of site activities is now mandatory. Wright Engineering has been proactive with regard to

complying with the requirements of these regulations. We employ a full time NEBOSH Qualified Safety Manager

and have instituted the following;

n Our site managers and site supervisors are qualified to IOSH management of safety standards.

n All our site personnel hold Client/Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) “Passports to Safety”.

n Qualified Appointed Persons, Banksmen and Slingers in line with the Lifting Operations and Equipment n

n Regulations 1998, enabling us to plan and manage our own crane lifting operations.

In addition to their trade qualifi cations as Fitter Erectors, Steelwork Erectors, and Welders, we have personnel

trained in the use of;

n Mechanically Elevated Working Platforms,

n Forklift Trucks,

n Telehandlers,

n PASMA Scaffold Towers.

n Confi ned Space Operations

Our site managers and supervisors have a detailed training matrix for all our site staff, identifying their

qualifi cations, allowing them to assemble a team with the appropriate skills necessary for the project tasks.

We are fully conversant with the requirements to provide method statements, risk assessments, safe systems of

work, etc. for any work being carried out at a client’s site.

This approach has ensured that Wright Engineering is the “go to” company for many “blue chip” organisations in

the UK. Only our consistently high level of performance on site, with regard to safety, quality and timescale, have

allowed us to continue to provide site installation teams for companies such as Lafarge, British Gypsum, Tarmac,

Bovis Lend Lease and AE&E Lentjes for so many years. We have, and continue to operate in the building materials,

power station, news print, food, agriculture and waste sectors, complying with all their complex requirements.

Health & Safety

Wright Engineering has experienced the Health and Safety systems in the UK evolve over the last 25 years at fi rst

hand. We have worked on projects with some of the most forward thinking and safety conscious organisations

during this period. This has enabled us to develop and hone our own Health and Safety systems, fi rstly to comply

with these companies’ requirements on their sites, but ultimately to institute and maintain our own extensive

Health and Safety system and culture.

We have concentrated our efforts on developing a simple yet comprehensive system which has become an

intergral part of our project design and planning system. The key corner stones are:

n All our site personnel are our own employees, inducted into Wright Engineering, trained, monitored and

adjudged competent for the tasks to which they are assigned.

n All our employees are health screened annually by our fully trained and qualifi ed company nurse

n We employ a full time NEBOSH Qualifi ed Safety Manager

n Our site managers and site supervisors are qualifi ed to IOSH management of safety standards.

n All our site personnel hold Client/Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) “Passports to Safety”.

n Attain and keep accreditations with Achilles and Safe Contractor.

By training our personnel into the Health and Safety way of thinking, we believe they then look at tasks in

the correct way and request the necessary Health and Safety information. We also give all our personnel

the authority and confidence to refuse to perform tasks if they are not satisfied with the Health and Safety

information they are given.

With regard to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, we have developed a standard site

Health and Safety file which accompanies all personnel when they attend site.

This contains;

n Method Statements for the work to be carried out

n Risk Assessments for the tasks to be carried out

n Safe Systems of Work, drawn up be us to provide protection and control measures to be employed when

undertaking activities such as

n Working at height

n Hot work

n Lifting Operations

n Working with MEWPs, Telehandlers or Forklift Trucks

n Current Company Insurance Cover Notes

n Certificates and Licenses of all employees

n Blank pads of “On the job” risk assessments which are given to team leaders and used where they feel that

the task requires further assessment due to changes in site conditions, task scope, etc.

In addition, our site managers and supervisors are equipped with laptops with direct access to our company

server. This allows access to all our safety documentation, employee certifi cates and ensures that our safety

paperwork remains current on site.

This approach has ensured that Wright Engineering is seen as a “safe pair of hands” for many “blue chip”

organisations in the UK. Only our consistently high level of performance on site with regard to safety as well as

quality and timescale, have allowed us to continue to provide site installation teams for companies such as Lafarge,

British Gypsum, Tarmac, Bovis Lend Lease and Lentjes for so many years. We have, and continue to operate in, the

building materials, power station, news print and waste sectors, complying with all their complex requirements.

We are committed to continue our development of our Health and Safety Systems to ensure that we are at the

forefront and leaders in our industry.
