Welcome to our Sixth Annual Bull Sale! Mary, Chris, Cody and I appreciate your confidence and support of our program. Many of you know we make our living exclusively from agriculture. However my passion is our cow herd and making breeding decisions to make the best cattle better. Every breeding decision we make is focused on making our customers’ cow-calf operation more profitable. We continue to see one of the most exciting and profitable times in agriculture’s history. Beef producers continue to be financially rewarded for quality. Our team has continued to develop alliances with several farmer feeders. These feeders want to purchase our customers’ Charolais-cross feeder calves at premium prices. Our bulls are genetically selected to produce calving ease, high vigor, and fault free offspring. These cattle display eye appeal and exceptional performance in the feedlot. We are humbled by the success our customers have accomplished during the past year. Welcome back to the 6th Annual Wright Charolais Bull Sale. It just doesn’t seem possible that this outstanding bull sale started in 2008 with Derry and Mary and their first offering of only 23 bulls in that first bull sale catalog! But it is interesting to go back and read that first catalog and look at what I wrote in that first letter.“I want to welcome you to the first of which I’m sure will be MANY YEARS of Wright Charolais Bull Sales.”“as you get to know him(Derry), you will realize that he has an intense desire to do everything and anything RIGHT.”“as soon as he figures out how to do it right, he starts planning to do it even BIGGER and BETTER.”“so plan on a LARGER number of bulls next year and more QUALITY each and every year.”“this bull sale will become a SOURCE on which you can depend”

It has been an exciting trip as Derry, Chris and Cody have moved this sale forward. At that first sale in2008 we sold 23 bulls for an average “by the nose” of $3,448 with a high of $25,0002009 - 46 bulls at $2,484, with a high of $8,2502010 - 55 bulls average $3,270 with a high of $10,0002011 - 83 bulls did $4,137 with a high of $40,0002012 - 110 bulls through the ring for an average of $4,353 with a high of $32,500

Everyone is always afraid to print the averages when they get high. My take on it is why would you want to go to a bull sale that doesn’t keep improving? It could only mean one thing — bull buyers don’t like the product and don’t come back! This sale has been built on “customer satisfaction.” Yes there will be bulls in everyone’s price range. In 2012, 39 head sold from $2,000 to $2,900 and 15 head in the teens. Come and take a look at what they will present to you.
