  • TerraStop® Woven Woven Polypropylene (PP) Geotextiles TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextiles are often used for separation, reinforcement and stabilisation in the construction of pavements. The separation action prevents the mixing of dissimilar soils allowing each soil layer in the pavement structure to function as intended.

    The high tensile strength and low elongation properties of TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextiles provide reinforcement and stability into the pavement section reducing rutting and extending pavement life.

    TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextiles are manufactured from durable, high-modulus PP yarns and woven into a robust, dimensionally stable geotextile. Available in various strength grades to suit the project.

    Designed for Civil Engineering applications such as:

    • reinforcement of granular soils • embankment reinforcement • basal reinforcement • piling platforms • subgrade improvement

  • TerraStop® Woven Woven Polypropylene (PP) Geotextiles HANDLING TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextile are generally supplied in rolls 100 - 150m long and 5.0 - 5.2m wide. As the rolls can vary from 100kg to 300kg, we recommend appropriate transport and lifting equipment is used. The rolls of Terrastop Woven incorporate a core suitable for use with a spreader bar system. In the case of products with non- structural core special dispensers are available upon request.

    PLACEMENT TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextiles are placed in formation levels previously compacted and levelled that do not contain projections likely to damage the woven geotextile layer. They are reeled off the roll by hand or using plant and are cut to length as required.

    OVERLAPPING TerraStop® PP Woven Geotextiles have equal strength in both directions and are generally placed in the direction of construction traffic. The panels are overlapped both side to side and end to end in the direction of fill placement. Recommended overlap ranges from 300mm to 1000mm, depending on subgrade strength. That is for CBR>2 an overlap of 450mm while for CBR>1 an overlap of 1000mm is recommended. To avoid movements in the overlaps during fill placements, fill or pins can be used to hold edges down.     BIOLOGICAL RESISTANCE • Unaffected by bacteria, fungi, etc. • Rats and termites will not eat TerraStop® as a source of food.

    EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT TerraStop® Woven geotextiles are supplied in rolls wrapped in plastic. It is recommended that the wrapping remains until the rolls are to be used. When unrolled on site, TerraStop® geotextiles have UV light stabilisers incorporated into their polymer structure to ensure the products have adequate resistance to sunlight exposure during installation.

    TESTING TerraStop® Woven geotextiles are manufactured by an ISO 9001 compliant companies under a strict Quality System. In addition batch samples are regularly tested independently. They are manufactured from weaving 100% polypropylene filaments. The properties listed are family mean values derived from comprehensive testing at the manufacturers laboratory.
