    EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS

are fully aware of the importance

    of unity. Where Christians be-

    lieve in the fundamental teach-

ings of God's Word there should

be a desire for working together.

    The World Evangelical Fellow-

ship exists to foster much need-

    ed unity and fellowship among

    Christians.

    Following the International

    Congress On World Evangeliza-

    tion, the General Assembly of

    W.E.F. took place in Switzer-

    land. Among the key personnel

    present were Dr. Billy Graham,

Dr. Donald Hoke, Rev. Jack Dain

    and Rev. John Slott.

    Under the chairmanship of

Dr. Ben Wati of India, the out-going president of W.E.F., the

    Assembly took the following

    resolutions:

    1. The W.E.F. Theological

    Association was reorganized with

the goal of promoting the evan-

    gelical theological position

    throughout the World. Rev.

    Bruce Nicholls, a missionary from

New Zealand to India, was ap-

    pointed as the Executive Sec-

    retary, and Mr. John Langlois,

a British lawyer, was made the

    Administrator. Some key evan-

    gelical theologians from North

    America, South America, Asia,

    Africa, Europe and Australasia

    were appointed to the Theolog-

    ical Association, with Byang Ka-

to of Africa as the convener of

    their meeting.

    WORKING TOGETHER

    2. World Evangelical Com-munications Association. A steer-

ing committee was set up with

Dr. Ben Armstrong of the United

States of America as the con-

    vener. The initial emphasis of

the Association will be in the

    area of broadcastings.

    3. An International Mission

    Commission of the W.E.F. was

recommended to be organized.Plans are still under way for

    establishing this Commission.

It was stated that the Con

    tinuation Committee of ICOWE

will take note of the existence

of W.E.F. As a matter of fact,

    membership in the two bodies

will overlap, so there will be a

    spirit of working together be-

    tween them.

A.E.A.M. is not yet a member

of W.E.F., but it is a clearing

house for W.E.F. in Africa. The

    following A.E.A.M. members and

    affiliates are also members of

    W.E.F:

    The Evangelical Fellowship of

    Rhodesia

    The Evangelical Fellowship of

    Senegal

    The Sierra Leone Evangelical

    Fellowship

    The South Africa Evangelical

    Council
