Photography is a great way to express your inner creative persona, while capturing and recording the world around you.

What I would like to do with each workshop no matter the level or theme, is to help guide you through your journey as a photographer, while revealing tips and skills I have learnt through my career.

For those of you that follow my work, you will know that my name is Michelle Howard. I have been asked for some time now to create workshops for photography. So I have decided that 2015 is the year!

I am resident photographer to the wedding magazine MisstoMrs, and have been working on promotional stylised shoots, weddings, portraits for the past 4 years. I have worked very hard to attain my style, techniques, knowledge and expertise through personal development and training.

I became a fully-fledged professional photographer in 2010 when I started my career as a wedding photographer. Understanding my equipment is what allows me to use my talents to their fullest, and to do so under pressure. It’s essential for me to be able to think quickly, to see what’s in front of me, to translate this and then to be able to record what I see physically into my camera.

Photoshop is NOT my fail safe, I truly believe that what you photograph should be right in the camera. From there you can build and create so much more in within your editing. I want to make sure you have the right foundation to build on.

Beginners Workshop: - Becoming familiar with your cameraSo you have bought a camera… whether this is a DSLR, compact or bridging camera, we will teach you the basic aspects of photography. From understanding natural light, aperture and shutter control, depth of field, framing and composition, basic editing.

Do you want to learn more about photography other than the set programs? Are you confused by all the functions? You have a nice camera, yet you want more than just nice photos?

My beginner class will start with a presentation discussing the aspects of photography that you will practice during your workshop. We will then go out on location from our studio in search of subjects that inspire you. You will look at various aspects that show evidence of what you have learnt.
