WonderlandPinwheel BlockRefer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics. Draw a pencil line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the 4” clean white solid squares. Place the 4” clean white solid squares on top of the 4” assorted print squares. Sew ¼” on each side of the pencil line. Cut on the lines to make 120 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 3½”. Referring to Pinwheel Block diagram below, sew 4 Half Square Triangles together to make the Pinwheel Block. Repeat to make 30 Pinwheel Blocks.

Sashing and Pinwheel Block Refer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew a 1½” x 6½” bleached denim solid rectangle to a Pinwheel Block. Repeat to make a row with 6 sashing rectangles and 5 Pinwheel Blocks. Make 6 rows labeled A.

Posts and SashingRefer to the quilt photo for fabric placement. Sew a red poinsettia 1½” square to a 1½” x 6½” bleached denim solid rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 6 posts and 5 sashing rectangles. Make 7 rows labeled B.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to the quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 43½”. Top and bottom borders should be 44½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 51½”. Top and bottom borders should be 48½”.

Border 3Side borders should be 55½”. Top and bottom borders should be 62½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Alpine Wonderland Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
