The Angelic Kingdom

My own notes taken at William’s seminar are in this Arial font.William’s notes are in Times font.

This discussion about the Angelic kingdom is not a discussion about womenwith wings! Nor is it about “Churchy stuff”. It is a discussion about the“Mother line,” or Devic evolution, in contrast to the “Father line”, or Monadicevolution.

When Purpose and Intelligent Substance come together into relationship, thenAwareness, or Consciousness, the middle principle, or Soul, emerges.

This is “The Son” – product of the meeting of the Father and the Mother.In this sense, what you call ‘you’ is the place where two great streams of

divinity meet and interact, physical, emotional, and mental forms in process of becoming integrated and self aware – a “human”

We might say, the “Father”(Purpose/Will) line “knows what todo”

We might say, the “Mother” (intelligentsubstance) line “knows how to do it”

Both lines are hierarchical. They in parallel evolution, two streams of the OneLife which interface, producing consciousness, the Soul, the “Son”

Deva as a Parallel Evolution

The Deva (angelic) Kingdom is said to be a parallel domain of life to our own. Just as with human

beings, angelic life is evolving, though its evolution is unseen to us. It is a domain of life thatpermeates all aspects of creation, yet recognition of it is illusive at best. In the esoteric tradition we

are given to understand that the reason humanity does not see the deva kingdom is because its

juxtaposition is too close to us. Metaphorically, it is equivalent to a fish that does not know what

water is, due to its pervasive proximity to water. This is precisely the dilemma facing humanitywhen considering our relationship to angelic life. Devic beings are intimately present within our

field of experience, yet human beings are unable to even recognize their existence due to theirnearness.

• The ‘purpose’ of the deva line is to enable consciousness to emerge.• Spirit/Deva, or Will/intelligence, help each other.• Deva grow and evolve through being ‘used’ by humans as the humans themselves

develop capacity to express in forms, such higher qualities as Love, Wisdom, etcthrough incarnational experience.

• Humans grow and evolve through the use of the intelligence the deva give them.• Both need each other and in a sense depend upon eachother • The Purpose of Human life is to “uplift the lesser lives’, the elementals towards self-

realisation

A major problem for humans is that the devic kingdom is so close to us that we canbarely become aware of it.

It is so close, it resembles being a fish that does not know it is in water.Your thoughts, your feelings, your sensations, are only experienced by ‘you’ becausethe devs give you that experience.Will + Deva produce everything you can be aware of – human, animal, mineral, plant,and more – all the planes an d categories of experience.Everything you experience is composed of devic forms - except your Essence, your Core Being, your PURPOSE.

Even your capacity to experience yourself as an individual “I” is a gift of the Solar Angel.

Deva as the Carriers of Intelligence

The Deva Kingdom represents the great Mother force within Creation. It is the third aspect, which

means that it is the custodian for the divine intelligence of the One Life -God. As a force that

supports the intelligent evolution of all forms of life, the angelic kingdom's role in the drama of creation cannot be underestimated. To understand this notion, it must be born in mind that all of

creation is an expression of Divine Substance being shaped and influence by Divine Purpose. As I

have said, the Mother Principle within the universe is intelligent substance itself, while the Father

Principle is the custodian of Beingness and Purpose. When these two forces interact, consciousnessinevitably emerges. Therefore, consciousness is the result of the interaction of angelic life with

Divine Purpose.

Intelligence (esoterically understood) is every attribute that isThis is because all rays of attribute are in a sense subdivisions of the third ray:

All quality, all variability, is deva, is “Her”, the “Mother’: e.g. the ‘redness’, texture,geometry of a carpet. The deva kingdom is so close to ‘you’ that you cannot see it.

Substance is the Manifestation of Divine Intelligence.

Examples: DNA is a manifestation of intelligenceSo are cells, feelings, thoughts, all are expressions of different categories of intelligence

Elementals are “bits’ – the assemblage of which into patterns produces something that isgreater than the sum of the ‘parts’.To ‘have a thought’, you attract certain elementals to assemble them as a ‘thought youhave’, an ‘idea you have’, ‘knowledge’.

Mutual service between the human and devic kingdoms‘The elementals work together as something beyond themselves as separate parts, and

this is an uplifting experience for them, it serves them.They served ‘you’ by giving you the chance to experience knowledge, feelings, lifeexperiences on different planes.Thus evolutionary purpose is served too.The distinction is not total, but proportional

Deva as the Healing Force in Creation

The art of healing is really the art of utilizing deva in support of human betterment. As we havealready stated, the angelic kingdom holds the treasury of knowledge within the universe.

Understanding how to heal the human body requires that one be given access to a level of angelic

life capable of revealing the needed knowledge to the mind of the healer. All knowledge is made

possible through the gifts conveyed by angelic life. In addition, deva is the life force within allforms. It therefore is the energetic source that gives sustenance to all things. The function of healing

is to understand and manipulate the body's relationship to this life force in order to facilitate the

healing process. In short, the art of healing requires that the human body be rightly aligned with the

devic intelligence that underlies it. When right alignment occurs, and karmic conditions do notdemand otherwise, healing will most certainly occur.

HEALING can be seen as the process of creating better forms in place of the old ones,and/or of adjusting old and or new forms to be more correctly related to each other.

Physical healing:

It is interesting how the body ‘knows’ how to heal itself to some extent, it ‘knows’ thepattern and how to rebuild it – we might call this “the intelligence of the body”This existing capacity for physical healing resides in the “Mother”, the deva, – thecustodian of established patterns.However, some will and purposefulness (“Father aspect”) may still be needed – to diet or exercise, or undertake rehabilitation, for example.

Psychological and mental healing:It may be a question of restoring old patterns, but more often, pre-existing patterns(“Mother”) may no longer be adequate to the purpose (“Father”) of the indwelling spirit.This dismantling old beliefs and patterns of emotional reactivity may be essential – this too

will require that purposeful will be brought into the situation (“Father” aspect) – even todecide and will to go to a therapist, for example!Note that the only “things” that can be mended or upgraded are the pre-existing or established substantial devic patterns, but we do not yet usually think about the healingtask in this way.

Deva as Unified Field

Because the Deva Kingdom does not emphasize individualness (as compared to humans), theirnature is to act as the container for many variables within any situation. As such, deva unify the

field of experience that a human being has at any given moment. When we speak of the unity

underlying all diversity in creation, we are pointing to the Deva Kingdom. In truth, it is they who

create cohesion in all aspects of creation, and this, whether tangibly or intangibly considered.

The building of a group causal body:

A group of people come together around a more or less shared common purpose, andseek to create a group understanding.These ‘devic patterns” that we call ‘people’ do not immediately have total group unity, or aunified field. Their current ‘personalities’ are “lunar” devas of the physical, emotional, andmental planes, or patterns drawn from substance of those planes – from the ‘bodies’ of the great Devas called Kshiti, Varuna, and Agni.The archetype of Unity, however, lives on the Buddhic plane – it is composed of the

substance of a higher deva, the Deva of that plane.Devas of planes above the mental can be called “solar devas” as they are part of theetheric planes of the solar system – planes 1-4 of our systemic plane.As the group struggles towards developing more roup love, group understanding, groupcooperation, group unity etc., that higher Deva becomes attracted to the ‘cry’ or ‘sound’, or ‘vibration’ it is emitting as it “raises its vibration” – through the purposeful will or intention todo so, of course.That higher Deva then is attracted towards assisting a group soul or causal body.The vibration that attracts such a high Deva is the Christ vibration – Love and Wisdom.

Important–distinguish between lunar elementals and angels and Higher Devaor Solar Angels

We must distinguish between our experience with ELEMENTALS, and our experience withDEVAS in support of elementals.Our task in this evolutionary partnership is to connect the existing elemental patterns with ahigher or Solar Deva.We can learn to ‘see’ the chart of the Human Constitution in terms of elementals anddevas.We can learn to attract higher categories of Deva by raising our own vibration.For example, by using higher, abstract thought processes, we attract higher categories of

deva – solar, not lunar.This ‘uplifts’ the current lunar devic patterns, or ‘solarizes’ them.Until we begin to think abstractly we have not yet built into our minds elementals of thehigher mental sub-planes.

We need a vocabulary (“sounds”) of the abstract, formless realms, to avoid making “forms”of what we conceive devas to be (fairies, goblins, elves, etc). This is ‘particulate thinking’.

On the “Mother line”, ‘substance’ and ‘energy’ are synonymous, - ‘forms’ are only‘assemblages’.

Deva as Phenomenal Experience

All categories of consciousness represent experiences occurring within planes of substance. For

example, thoughts and feelings are manifestations of categories of substance being experienced by

the Thinker (Self). When we have a thought, for example, we are experiencing forms containedwith the substance of the mental plane, and that substance is devic. Feelings and intuitions are

essentially devic as well. All experiences within consciousness manifest from the intelligence

inherent within various types and grades of devic substance. Thoughts and feelings are forms

contained within one's mind, and these forms represent the assemblage of atoms of intelligentsubstance. These atoms are called elementals, and are considered the lowest level of angelic life.

This is more evidence why the deva kingdom is so difficult for human beings to perceive. It isbecause the very act of perceiving IS an experience of deva. We do not recognize deva because we

do not realize that our capacity to search and perceive is itself indication of our interaction with the

Deva Kingdom. In short, deva gives birth to all phenomenal experiences, and everything that occurs

in consciousness is phenomenon.

Phenomena are but categories of substance experienced by the Thinker (self).The very act of perceiving is deva!

Humankind offer the deva kingdom a teaching of individualness.“Father line” has the IDENTITY principle.Every part of you that wants to understand “who you are” in essence, is “Father line”The “Mother line” parts do not yet understand individualized identity, but is more holistic,more universal.

Yet the goal is to realize IDENTITY and UNIVERSALITY.

We are both a part, and the Whole.

Important Note – control elementals and cooperate with Deva:

• A disciple learns to relate to devas differently than to elementals• A disciple is one learning to master the elementals, yet seeking to cooperate with the

higher, solar, devas overseeing the elementals, for they represent the higher intelligences.

• An elemental becomes a ‘deva’ when it becomes a ‘manipulating deva’ – see later.•

You control the elementals through the activity aspect – by doing• You cooperate with the deva through Love-Wisdom – not by doing, but by holding in

your mind and heart the best love-wisdom of which you are capable. It is that “note”which attracts the higher deva to the situation.

• You master a certain amount of elementals as a pre-requisite for a deva even to takeinterest in cooperating with you.

• As you master some physical/emotional/mentals elementals, higher deva(s) getattracted to you to support your higher purpose.

• As partial soul-personality infusion with love-wisdom progresses, at each higher level ahigher level of deva responds to the higher ‘note’ you sound, and this assists youexternalise your soul purpose.

•

Such devas have been called the “Devas of Circumstance” or “Devas of Synchronicity”• “God helps those that help themselves” is a phrase pointing to this natural law.• Rays 2, 4, 6 and Planes 2, 4, 6 have a natural resonance and tendency towards unity

with the deva kingdom (see the diagramlater)

The Plan

Christ and the Masters are working with a vast category of high Deva – this we call “ThePlan”The Plan is a vast category of high Devic life that has come in contact with the Ashramicand Shamballic Purpose.

Thus the Christ and the Masters have been called the Manasadevas.On the Second (monadic) Plane the fusion between the “Father” and the “Mother” lines isextensive. Unity is established and approaches synthesis.

On the lower plane – the plane of emotions and desire for example, the “Desire for Unity”or “Astral Allurement” is not actual unity, but rather, a sense of a higher but future unity,and a great yearning for it.Question: At what initiation are you no longer victimized by the intelligence of feelings(elementals of the astral plane)?Answer: The second. Mastery of the emotional nature implies no longer being used by

ones feelings, by expectations and reactions to their disappointment, for example.

Question: Consider Nazism. This is a great devic life with intelligence, is it not? So, aredeva always in support of the good?Answer: The members of the “Black Lodge” also manipulate deva. Deva do not inherentlyhave as clear an idea of Purpose, but they are responsive to Will. The “Dark Lodge”

emphasizes elitist separativeness, and is no a vibration from the Past. What is “evil” butattachment to the good that has outlived its usefulness? The “Black Lodge” builds formsthat are devoid of love. This is Intelligence WITHOUT Love, which can especiallydemonstrate through Ray 5 + Ray 1 without the others.

Therefore, seek only to cooperate with Deva that are in support of the Ashram and thePlan. Ask yourself as a test, does this support unity or fragmentation? And remember that“repulse” is not always negative, especially if it supports a higher unity. The “White Lodge”works through Intelligence AND Love.

The Masters are constantly involved in dispersing archaic past patterns of intelligence, and

to liberate it, so that it becomes a positive force for the future.The Masters perforce have to work through Their disciples and initiates.As a disciple you are an agent the Hierarchy can use to dispense new patterns totransform the old.

A Summary so far

Deva are the “Mother line”, “Intelligence” (occultly understood), meaning anything that is“Attribute”.Anything that is “Attribute” is a manifestation of Intelligence (Deva).All phenomena are Deva and elementals.We are too close for easy perceiving of the devic realm, yet it is “all you percieve” –nothing you perceive is not deva.Even the capacity to perceive and know that you as an individual are perceiving isbecause of devic forms.

Deva and Elementals

- Distinctions -

Deva and Elementals are terms often used interchangeably. Yet, technically speaking, there are

differences worthy of note. There are three major distinctions to keep in mind. They are:

Magnitude of Life:

It must be understood that the angelic kingdom is hierarchical, just as are all domains of life. Assuch, elementals are lesser expressions of life as compared to deva. They are essentially reduced

expressions of life contained within a deva being. That is to say that elementals represent the minute

particles of intelligent substance (as found on all planes), and are the cells within some greater deva.

Just as a human being is a cell within the life of the planetary logos (the entity that ensouls ourplanet), so too do elementals represent the substance contained within the body of a vaster deva

entity. They are called "elementals" in that they have categorical relationship (and correspondence)

to the four sacred elements - fire, air, water and earth.

Evolutionary versus Involutionary:

Generally speaking, deva are on the evolutionary arc of development, while elementals areinvolutionary. When life is evolutionary, it means that the general trend of its development is

expansion and movement toward unity and synthesis. Evolutionary life is moving away from

density and toward the subtle essence of things. Involutionary life, on the other hand, is tendingtoward fragmentation and separation. When something is "involving" it means that its nature favors

complexity and differentiation. Elementals are attracted to form-bound existence, and they are best

able to express themselves within the density of matter. All categories of life are understood as

either developing toward matter and multiplicity (involution) or away from it (evolution).

Individualization:

Deva are angelic entities that have individualized, while elementals have not. By this is meant that

deva have evolved to the point where they know themselves as individualized beings. Just as with a

human being, a deva is able to realize itself, which means that it has the capacity to be aware of

awareness. This is indication that individualization has occurred, for to know one's individualnessrequires the capacity to introspect. On the other hand, this cannot be said of elementals. Essentially,

they are blind to their individualness. Instead, they are swept up by the current of larger energetic

forces and simply move in accordance with those forces. They are therefore incapable of

deliberation and individual choice. They respond to vibration, and this in an instinctual manner.There is also a category of devic life that is in transition from elemental life to that of individualized

existence. Some nature spirits (so-called) fit into this transitional category. Such entities as fairies,

leprechauns, and elves are examples of this.

The Deva Kingdom

- The Five Postulates Given by the Tibetan -

Treatise on Cosmic Fire, pages 488 - 490

Postulate I All matter is living matter, or is the vital substance of deva entities.

For instance, a plane, and forms built of that particular plane

substance, is the material form or sheath of a great deva, who is the

essence back of manifestation and the soul of the plane.

Postulate II All forms, vibrating to any keynote, are fabricated by the building

devas out of the matter of their own bodies. Hence they are called

the great Mother aspect, for they produce the form out of their own

substance.

Postulate III The devas are the life which produces form-cohesion. They are the

third and second aspects blended, and might be considered as the life

of all forms that are subhuman. A magician, therefore, who

transmutes in the mineral kingdom works practically with devaessence in its earliest form on the upward arc of evolution, and has

to remember three things:

a. The effect of the backward pull of the involutionary lives

which lie back of the mineral, or, in effect, its heredity.

b. The sevenfold nature of the peculiar group of devas which

constitute its being in an occult sense.

c. The next transition stage ahead into the vegetable kingdom, or

the occult effect of the second kingdom on the first.

Postulate IV All deva essences and builders on the physical plane are peculiarly

dangerous to man, for they work on the etheric levels and are-as I

have earlier pointed out-the transmitters of prana, or the vital,

animating substance, and hence they set loose upon the ignorant and

the unwary, fiery essence which burns and destroys.

Postulate V The devas do not work as individualized conscious units through

self-initiating purposes as does a man, a Heavenly Man or a solar

Logos (viewed as Egos) but they work in groups subject to:

a. Inherent impulse, or latent active intelligence.

b. Orders issued by the greater Builders.

c. Ritual, or compulsion induced through color and sound.

Solar and Lunar Angels

- An Introductory Comparison -

In the Esoteric tradition, there is much emphasis on the importance of the Solar and Lunar Angels.

In some sense, these two categories of angelic life are quite similar. Their similarity comes from the

fact that they both provide human beings with the substance needed in order to facilitate human

evolution. By this is meant that each provides a person with the essential containers that s/he needsin order to experience human life, and to outwardly express that life. Incarnation and spiritual

development would not exist but for the amazing contribution that these two types of angelic forces

play in our lives. Because angelic life is an expression of the Mother Principle in creation, itsfundamental role (with regards to the human kingdom) is to design and build the forms needed inorder that consciousness can evolve through those forms. This is the fundamental purpose behind all

angelic force in creation. Consciousness only exists because the Spirit within is expressing itself

through layers of angelic substance. Though both solar and lunar deva represent categories of

intelligent substance, they are nonetheless quite different in their stages of development andinfluence on humanity. Let us examine their differences:

Lunar Angels:

Lunar Angels are angelic beings that provide the design and substance required for the creation of our personality forms. Specifically, they give to us the intelligent substance that composes ourphysical, emotional and concrete mental bodies. These angelic beings hold the design for the

human physical body, as well as the blueprint for the development of the subtler vehicles of the

persona - mental and emotional containers.

To highlight this we need only look at our physical bodies. Lunar Angels give to the human body

an amazing intelligence. For example, our body has its own innate knowledge. It knows how to heal

itself when we feel physically ill, or are injured in some way. In addition, the human body is

intricately well designed. The interactive relationship between the many systems of the body issometimes baffling in its complexity. Even the dynamics occurring within a single cell, and the

DNA information it contains, gives clear evidence of profound intelligence. In addition, the systemsof the body are holistic in their functioning, therefore making it possible for the human body to

function as an integrated whole. Even with today's vast scientific understanding of the body, there ismuch that still remains a mystery to medical science. Importantly, the design and intelligence of the

human body comes forth from the radiation of lunar angelic life overshadowing each of us. The

elemental substance used in the construction of the physical body is intelligent in its own right.However, it is the supervising Lunar Angel that coordinates these elementals, and provides the

holistic blueprint and pattern for the construction and maintenance of the human form. Such is the

great gift given to us by the Lunar Angels.

It is important to keep in mind that lunar angelic life also provides the intelligence and functional

capacities to one's emotions and concrete mind. Remember always that our emotional and mental

bodies are containers of substance as well. This substance is of a much finer state of existence thanis the substance of our physical bodies. Herein lies the reason why we cannot directly see these

vehicles. They exist in substance far subtler than matter as we typically consider it. Every emotion

or concrete thought is the product of the intelligence inherent within these two subtler personality

vehicles. We can therefore see that lunar angelic life provides human beings with the opportunityfor their souls to incarnate into outer forms (physical, emotional and mental). By so doing, the soul

is able to evolve itself. The reason this category of angelic life is referred to as "lunar" is that it

provides us with our outer shell of substance, which occultly corresponds to the symbolism of the

moon, the mother of dense form.

Solar Angels:

As with lunar angels, Solar Angels also provide substance for the construction of a container for the

evolution of human consciousness. However, the difference is that a Solar Angel is more evolved

than a lunar angel. As such, it is able to provide human beings with a vehicle of experience(container of substance) of a higher order. Specifically, Solar Angels give to each human being an

individual causal body. The causal body is the container used by the soul itself. As such, the

evolution of the soul is really the evolution of the soul as it relates to the causal body.

What is important to understand is that, unlike a lunar angel, a Solar Angel can provide a human

being with a vehicle that can facilitate his/her individualization. To individualize means to discoverone's individual identity. Before entering into the human kingdom, we each lived millions of years

within the animal kingdom. Yet, animal life is not individualized. Animals are largely governed by

the consciousness of the species to which they are a part. This we call instinct. An animal is not

overshadowed by solar angelic life. Rather, its consciousness is completely dominated by theconsciousness offered it by the lunar angels that shape and condition its outer form. This is another

useful distinction when we consider lunar angels. They themselves have not developed to the point

where they can give to an evolving entity a container to individualize. However, Solar Angels can,

and they are first encountered when life enters the human kingdom. What makes a human being ableto know him/herself as something separate from his/her animal nature is the power of independent

thought and introspection. Both these attributes (individual thought, and introspective analysis) are

only possible because we each have a Solar Angel overshadowing us, providing a container that

makes such capacities possible. The reason this category of devic life is called "solar" is that the sunis the occult symbol of individualized identity, which is precisely what the intervention of the solar

angels gives to humankind.

Solar angels give substance/intelligence to house your developing wisdom

They are the ‘library and the books’. For example, a wise thought, selfless love, a sense of unity, are all a result the Solar Angel containing and helping you to shape the perceptionsof your individual consciousness.

Dividing your thoughts into two categories:1. Concrete These are Lunar angelic substance2. Abstract understanding These are Solar angelic substance (Causal body)

As a generalization:1. The Solar angel gives you your experiences of your higher nature and Identity – you

capacity to conceive of “I”, of your “I-ness”2. The Lunar Angels give you your experiences of your personality

You cannot conceive of “I-ness” of your individual identity (that is separate from your animal instinctual nature) without a Causal body, which is built out of the substance of theSolar Angel.

The Solar Angel has been with you, providing a little piece of itself encasing “you” with a

container of substance so that it is possible for “you” to discover your Identity throughWisdom.

The Solar Angel is a very, very, very advanced Deva (of a 6th-9th degree initiate level) onthe “Mother line”It is a very, very, very advanced category of Intelligence.

Regarding the so-called “Petals” of the Egoic Lotus or causal body:These are symbols, of course, for various aspects of the unfolding soul consciousness.The whole Causal body is from the whole Solar AngelWithin that

Right here, right now, (but in a different dimension) is your Solar Angel; and you don’t knowit because you are thinking as an “I”.

The Solar Angel gives you higher consciousness.The Lunar Angels give you consciousness of form.

One Lunar Angel is responsible for the integrity of the physical body; this is one unitedcategory of intelligence. It makes the whole body work together as a system.There are lesser ‘lunar angels’ for each cell, making up the ‘intelligence of the cell’.There are lesser physical elementals making up the substance underlying the body cells.This sum total is the ‘intelligence of the body’ and largely responsible for its day to dayhealing.

There is a Lunar Angel for the substance of your emotional intelligence – what you call

your feelings.(Note how you cannot get away from the devic realm!)

There is a Lunar Angel for building the thought-forms you call your mind.

There is an encompassing Lunar Angel that holds the three together, linking your emotions, body and thoughts – this is what makes possible the Integrated Personality.The Integrated Personality is the consciousness of all four Lunar Angels.While you are in incarnation, you usually and for lifetimes believe yourself to be them.

Anytime you describe this you use deva to give it form.

And it is Deva all the way up to the highest Cosmic Planes too…

The Solar Angel advocates the future

It pulls towards subtlety, greater unity, the synthesizing formless abstract and archetypalrealms, towards the highest potential, towards higher, abstract, sacred principles(“hierarchy”).[See the “I can!” translation of phrase “malkutha d’shmeya” in Aramaic as used by JesusChrist – Neil Douglas-Klotz’s books]

The Lunar Angel tends to be conservative, attracted to preserving the past

It pulls towards density, fragmentation (particularity), and form-boundedness.It gives the experience of “the facts I know”, “the thoughts I have”, “the feelings I have”, “thesensations I have”.

So – you are a battleground between two categories of experience.

As you reach into the Buddhic plane, you encounter buddhi or buddhic substance – theDeva of that plane. This is pristine, very, very fine and subtle. It holds the Christ vibration.Eventually you build a vehicle of that substance – a buddhic vehicle.

initiation your monadic point in the Causal body can rise up into that new “home”in the Buddhic vehicle, and the Solar Angel is no longer required to build the Causal body,so can leave.And so on…this will be repeated at the Atmic and Monadic levels. You will always have a“sheath”, even if you are a Solar Logos, with your centre of focus on the Cosmic mentalPlane!But at those levels, the Self is experienced as a “Self” by the immersion in the Devic life of a plane.At the 6th (Monadic) level or degree, you are enabled to realize the consciousness of awhole planet, you can understand all planetary phenomena, existences and lives.

The “I” is in a blade of grass, and in a planet or solar system… You will always have a‘sheath’, even if you become a Solar Logos, with you centre of focus on the Cosmic Mentalplane.

Every entity has aspects of both Being (Father line, Spirit, “He”) and Attribute (Mother line,Deva, “She”)

Why do we have a Solar Angel?

The reason given in this system of thought is as follows. It is because of the “Moon ChainDisaster”. The incarnating Planetary Entity abandoned the Moon Chain and moved ontothe Earth Chain prematurely. This left a gap in consciousness in the human kingdom,between the Mental Permanent Atom, and the Mental Unit. If the disaster had nothappened, this gap would not be there.

The Solar Angels of which we speak are unique in that they do not come from the Earthsystem – they come from the Venus Chain, Earth’s “elder Sister”. Once upon a time theEarth and Venus were equally evolved. Bu the “Earth stumbled”, love was unleashed tooquickly. Unintelligent love was unleashed – the whole Earth Planetary Entity made thaterror.

So out of necessity, the Planetary Entity abandoned its incarnation and was forced into anew one. The site of that previous incarnation was the Moon. Now that it has beenabandoned it is now a dead planet, a shell (Past). It has usefulness as a symbol of cycles.In the horoscope chart, the Moon symbolizes the Lunar Angels – the patterns from theinstinctual past, the old patterns that must be risen above or matured. As increasingphysical perfection is achieved, the Moon can then be said to have “veiled Vulcan”. Asmore emotional perfection and maturity is achieved, the Moon can then be said to have“veiled Neptune”. As more mental perfection is achieved, the Moon can be said to have“veiled Uranus”. (G: The sub-personalities are in fact the very place where Higher Self qualities will manifest as they mature)

Had this series of events not happened, human monads would have slowly gatheredsubstance to build its vehicles progressively. But because it happened the way it did, theManasic substance needed for the mental vehicle was not quite adequate. There was ameasure of immaturity in it. So Causal Bodies could not be built.

The Solar Angels were needed and had to come. Venus had progressed normally, andthere Manasic Substance was developed to an adequate stage. She feels an obligation tohelp her ‘younger brother”, it seems. It is her “loving gaze” towards the Earth, her brother,that is the stream of substance that is the Solar Angels.

Ritual done with love and done well, with pure intention and precision, will automaticallyattract Deva.

A well-lived, well-organised life IS a ritual, and well done, it will invoke Deva.

What about the Devas of the Buddhic Plane?

How are they to be contacted? How can we cooperate with them?

The phrase “cooperate with the Deva” suggests that they know what is going on. In factthey are the Plan, for Plan is the formulation of the Purpose…

“Deva delight in opportunity to serve the Christ”.

This phrase gives us a clue. If what we do is with right will and intention, and imbued withthe Love of the Christ, the Devas will be attracted to the endeavour as an opportunity toserve the Christ, Who is the “Teacher alike of Angels and Men”.

To the extent that you can embody Christ-like Love and Purpose, the Deva will respond,indeed they must, for that is the occult Law.

Insofar as you try to imbue lower levels with higher Love, you attract the higher Devas tothe situation.

Devas of the Buddhic plane and higher are referred to as “Inner Builders” in the Treatise onWhite Magic and elsewhere in the esoteric literature. Lunar devas and elementals arereferred to as the “Outer Builders”.

When you touch higher purpose you invoke higher Deva.

The higher the purpose you invoke, the more higher Deva are invoked and attracted.

In the Magical Process:

“Let the outer builders cease…” = Let the Lunar elementals cease…“Let the Inner Builders enter on their cycle” = Let the higher Deva become involved.They are then called the “Deva of Circumstance”, or “Deva of Appearance”

When Buddhic Deva recognize that you are seeking to extend monadic and soul purposeinto the lower worlds, they begin to shape circumstances to favour that endeavour.

The Buddhic Deva represent a larger field of energy – the Buddhic Plane. The Lunar Angels feel that presence and rejoice to join in with them. The ‘fall out’ or resultant effectsfrom this larger field will benefit a wider field, will endure for longer, and be more groupconscious in quality.

Now, until the 3rd Initiation, the “High Point” of consciousness that may have beenachieved, say in meditation, may tend to drop down as the process of creation proceeds.Whenever this happens the lower categories of deva (Lunar Angelic Life) get involved anddoes not turn out so well, it is less aligned with the Plan. In this case the endeavour hasless power, less favourable shaping of circumstances, and benefits only a lesser field,endure less long, and be less group conscious in quality.

The thought-form a group is working for is Deva, necessarily.

Take the Blue Books, for example. The physical forms, their colours, words, symbols,texture, design… not to mention the wisdom they hold, and the Plan they serve is allDeva… (Mother)

There is also Purpose behind them (Father).

This Purpose has manifested other related Devic forms too. The Arcane School, theSchool for Esoteric Studies, the University of the Seven Rays, the International Network for Esoteric healing, the Aquarian Foundation, and many more in the last few years…

Insofar as you read them with Christ-like Love and Purpose, you will attract higher Deva,which will help to shape beneficial outcomes from the endeavour. You must have Christ-like Love and intention, or the Purpose cannot be achieved correctly. Remember, theChrist has leadership of both Angels and Men. Then Love + Will + Intelligence worktogether.

It is Love which is attractive and magnetic to higher Deva.

Without love you risk creating with only a combination only of Will and Intelligence, withmany attendant dangers.

How can I meditate in such a way as to do this?

1. Embody Christ-like love right at the outset. That is why we focus attention onenlivening the Heart Centre first – the twelve virtues of the heart resonate with thetwelve petals of the Causal Body.

2. GO to the Causal body, and meditate there, not in the lower mind.3. Recollect the pure pristine Purpose. You need a clear picture of this if you are to

attract the higher Deva. Even though you cannot be fully and accurately aware of your soul purpose until the 3rd initiation, you can still do your best. This can be doneby focusing on the Plan, for the Plan is and Agent of the Purpose.

4. Ponder, what part of the Plan are you part of? You may be able to get clearer aboutthis by knowing your Soul ray, by noting your service work, by recognizing what ismeaningful to you. What attracts you, what interests you? Note the trend of your thinking when it seems to be at its most lofty. These can all be clues to your role in

the Work as your higher mind wants to engage in the Plan.The Plan is a reservoir of energy and a category of intelligences, a stream of Purpose that wants to push through you. It lies behind your sense of responsibility.

5. [If all else fails, think of the things you think other people ought to do! You may beprojecting what is your own part in the work out onto others and expecting them todo it for you!]

2. Sense the Plan as you conceive it3. What is your interest within it?4. What is the Purpose behind it?5. Shape your thoughts in a way that is invitational to higher Deva.6. Consider invoking the higher Deva of cities or countries where you are.7. Use no pressure, only invitation. The only pressure is to be the Will behind the

Plan “Not my will, but Thine…’

A 4th degree initiate can do this. At our stage, all we can do is experiment and learn.

Dangers of Working with Angelic Life

If you have not yet mastered enought of the elementals of your own lower nature and youinvoke higher Deva, through yearning too much to do so, you run the risk of over-stimulation.

Thus Purification is vital – physical, emotional, and mental.

If you become over-stimulated, stop meditating for a while.

Carefuly designed methods of occult meditation act as safeguards.

Symptoms of over-stimulation:

Becoming obsessiveCannot stop thinkingRestlessInsomniaIncreased emotional over-sensitivityEgotismFanaticism ...

Elementals are involutionary. If you invite higher intelliggences to infuse your lower categories of intelligence, you are responsible... Thus, you must hold the will of the higher Purpose, but not direct it in an egotistical way.

Remember, Christ-love first, for love is ever a safeguard. Beware of “personality force”.

When we weave lines of common intelligence, and the Christ field is sufficient, then a higher Deva will overshadow the

group endeavours, we will build a Group Causal body and increase our wisdom. It seems, “God helps those who help

themselves” When humanity becomes interconnected in Christ-love, then an even greater Deva will be attracted.

Are there cross-over bridges between the Two Lines?

A Curious Note about the Bird kingdom

There are monads on both Father and Mother lines. It is hinted in the Teaching that thebird kingdom can occasionally be a “cross-over” bridge between the Father and the Mother lines - that certain deva monad categories may choose to move to the human line via thebird kingdom. The bird kingdom represents the category of devic life that makes it easyenough for to accustom themselves to a denser vibration.Of course at the 6th level, that of a Chohan facing the seven Paths, a Chohan may chooseto cross the other way, over to the Deva kingdom, but that is a stage far ahead...Between the stages of elementals (cellular structure, say) and Deva, there is anintermediate stage called “manipulating deva”. It is just prior to this stage being reached

that some few monads may choose to move into the bird kingdom.

Manipulating Deva

These have been symbolised by the terms fairies, elves, leprechauns, salamanders,brownies, nature spirits, goblins, etc of fairie stories. They are no longer plain elementals,but not yet fully fledged deva.

It seems that they develop a taste for individualisation. They become intrigued by thehuman kingdom and choose to mimic humans. They then try to understand what it is like

to be human, and try to act “as if” they were. Hence they appear humanoid to those whosense their presence, and the reason why “angels” are so often presented in human formas woman with birds wings.

Fairies are connected to the ‘air’ and ‘life in air’ – hence the wingsSylphs are also connected to air and wind – it is said that the sound of the wind is their ‘group chant’

Note: Wind and rain expressions are occultly understood as the language of themanipulating deva. Note also how scientists are now turning to Mother Nature for ideas for better engineering principles – they wish to learn from the devas! Examples are legion. For

example: ideas for the Stealth bomber’s silent wings were drawn from study of owls’ andbats’ wings; insect legs are the blueprints for the new generation of Mars explorersvehicles, new systems of colour engineering are being developed from the wings of insectsand plumage of birds.

“Guardian Angel”

This is the lowest aspect of the Solar Angel you can sense, your causal body – it is a smallfragment of the Solar Angel, which has been with you for 18 milion years! What does“guarding” signify? It is a category of intelligence that enables you to live with greater

wisdom.

“Trusted disciples” may also be under the guardianship of the Ashram – i.e. there areangelic agents who protect them and their work.

Archangels

These are Deva of equivalent status to a Ray Lord.
