Step 1: Apply to West Los Angeles College

1. Go to WLAC.EDU

2. Click on APPLY (top right corner of the page)

3. Scroll down to CLICK HERE TO BEGIN APPLICATION

4. CCC Application If you’ve applied to a community college before, enter your username and password to SIGN IN. If this is your first time applying to a community college, click CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT and then BEGIN CREATING MY ACCOUNT

• If you do not have a Social Security Number or don’t want to provide one, you can check the box at the bottom of the first page

• You will be creating a username, password, and 4-digit pin to complete your Open CCC account. Please take a moment to write this information down.

After the account has been created, click CONTINUE

5. CCC MyPath Under the Getting Started card, click APPLY NOW

J6. WLAC Application Click on START A NEW APPLICATION Select the following answers under the “Education” tab

• College Enrollment Status: Enrolling in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time

• Last High School Attended: Check “I Attended High School” (a drop down box will appear for you to enter your high school’s name)

• College Education: No Degree

Complete all 9 tabs and then click “SUBMIT MY APPLICATION”

Step 2: Sign and Submit K-12 Form

The “Supplemental Application for Admission of Students in Grades K-12" (known as the

K-12 Form) must be completed and signed in BLACK or BLUE ink with writing or text that

is LEGIBLE.

Part 1: K-12 Student Information

• Write in your legal name, birth date, address, phone number, email address, and

grade level. Do NOT use any nicknames. • Do NOT use your high school ID number. Write in your college ID number, which

starts with 88 or 90 and is 9-digits long.

• This section must be signed by YOU (the student) and your PARENT.

Part 2: College Enrollment Information

• Select the correct term, year, college, and status. Enrollment fees are waived for

high school students in part-time status (taking 11 units or less).

• Enter the course subject and number (e.g. Comm 101, History 011, Basic Skills

105CE) for all classes you are interested in.

• This section must be signed by your HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR.

Part 3: Submit to Admissions Office

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Admissions Office will not be providing in-person services. Electronic signatures and emailed

submissions will be accepted until further notice.

• Print, sign, and scan or use a digital signature

• Email the completed K-12 Form to admissions@wlac.edu

• Include a Photo ID (High School ID, California ID, Passport, etc.)

Reminders

• Incomplete forms or forms with errors will not be processed.

• The K-12 form must be signed by you (the student), your parent/guardian, and

your high school counselor. Forms with missing signatures will not be accepted. • The K-12 form gives you permission to enroll in the classes listed. It is your

responsibility to sign-in to your student portal and enroll in the class.

PDF Escape is, for the most part, a free PDF editor that will allow you to insert a PDF document, edit the fields on the document, and allow you to save and download the updated version. Please read the instructions below for a brief guide. *Before following these instructions, please download the file you would like to edit onto your laptop or computer. PDF Escape does not work on cellular devices or tablets.

§ Using a web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox) o Go to www.pdfescape.com

§ Click on “Choose File” and locate the PDF file on your computer. o Once inserted a new screen will appear where you can start editing.

§ At the top left, you will see tools such as (Text, Image, Link, Whiteout, Freehand, Form Field, Line, Arrow, Rectangle, Circle, Checkmark)

o You are able to use any of these in order to complete the form. o The main tools you need to use are:

§ Text: Click the text tool and you are able to drop the cursor anywhere on the PDF to add text.

§ Checkmark: If the form asks you to check off certain fields, you can use the checkmark tool.

• To effectively use the checkmark too you must select it and click where you would like to check off. You are able to adjust the size of the check using the small boxes.

§ Freehand: The freehand tool allows you to use your mouse/cursor and draw your signature.

o NOTE: If you make an error, you can re-click on the tool name to disable the tool, click on the item you want to delete, and then click on the trash icon at the top OR upload the file again and start over.

§ Once you are finished, to the far left there is a “Save” and “Download” button. o The “Save” is the blue disk and the “Download” is the green arrow. o Download the file to your computer and check to see if all fields are completed.
