Willis W. Reese III, forHernando CountySchool Board District 22016
Willis W. Reese III is officially announcing his candidacy for Hernando County School Board District 2 Seat.
Papers were filed with the Supervisor of Elections in Hernando County on Friday afternoon October 23, 2015 to begin the race for the School Board seat.
Mr. Reese believes the school system in Hernando County would flourish with better use of it’s current resources, and a more fluid system of communication with all stakeholders. In addition, he wants to find solutions to the frustration that students, parents, teachers and administrators are having with the current high stakes testing and common assessment systems. He will bring his experience, education, and leadership to the board if elected.
He lives in Spring Hill with his wife Valerie, son Jayden, and step daughter, Naomi. His hobbies are aviation and photography, and occasionally he enjoys a good game of tennis.
Relevant Education and Experience:
• Master of Science Degree in S.T.E.M. Education• Graduate Certificate in Digitally Enhanced Mathematics Education• 3 terms of Graduate Coursework in Educational Leadership• Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology with specializations in Administration and
Human Services.• Associate of Science Degree in Legal Assisting with specializations in Corporate Law,
Criminal Law, and General Civil Litigation• 11 years of experience as a secondary school classroom instructor• 5 years of combined experience as a team leader and department chair• 5 years of experience serving on School Based Leadership Teams• 1 year of experience as a member of the Pinellas County Algebra Leadership Team
Among other things, Mr. Reese has served as a business owner, police officer, medical risk management / safety and security coordinator, and public relations coordinator.
