What is SWPBIS or PBIS?

• The school will focus on the preferred behaviors, we want to focus on behaviors you should do and not what you shouldn’t do.

• The main theme of PBIS is creating a supportive positive environment by teaching behavioral expectations in the same manner as any core curriculum subject.

• There are consequences to wrong-doing, but we want to focus more on rewarding good behavior.

see fit at appropriate times• APS is like a savings account with direct deposit

– Points are deposited for:• attendance• honor roll• no tardies

– Points are deducted for:• minor referrals• major referrals• suspensions• late-to-school/early check out

• We DO NOT have control of the APS. It is generated/updated for us by jPams nightly based on our attendance log.

• We do reserve the right to make emergency corrections to unforeseen issues as they come up.

FAQ-Points

• How do I know what my total is? Every 3 weeks your homeroom teacher will show you your totals when you pick up your report card. We will not print out 300 statements every few weeks or one whenever you are curious.

• How do we spend the points? Once the points are posted, you can get with Mrs. Chris, Mrs. Laura, or Mr. Humble to deduct your points and register you for the event.

Page 13: WHS - SWPBIS School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support

Page 14: WHS - SWPBIS School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support

FAQ-Absences• Am I being deducted points if my parent

calls (not dr. or school business)? Yes. Your parent calling helps by not counting towards truancy, but you can still be denied credit and your points will be deducted.

• Am I being deducted points for school business or Dr. excuses? No. Anything that gets recorded as an “excused” absence into jPams gets counted as if you were at school.
