All would live on their land called the Manor he would be considered the lord of the manor. Serfs and Freeholds Serfs- very bottom of the social pyramid- usually farmers had virtually no power were considered property.

Freeholders person who owned his or her land, they paid a yearly fee.

Was There Social Mobility?Social Mobility: movement of individuals, people or groups from one position to another.

Example of social mobility in reference to classes would be: Is a serf able being able to acquire his/her own land and become a freeholder or noble?
